Job Description

Primary (AIS/GIS) Substation Design Candidates should demonstrate end‑to‑end design for voltages in the 33–400 kV range, including: Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), General Arrangement, layout & section drawings Equipment selection (disconnectors, circuit breakers, CT/VT, transformers, switchgear) Cable trench / routing, illumination layouts, BOM & as‑built deliverables Practical experience across AIS/GIS substations and site interfaces Secondary (Protection & Control) Engineering Look for: CRP/relay scheme design, detailed wiring/schematic diagrams Cable schedules, CT/VT adequacy checks, settings coordination SCADA/HMI integration (e.g., IEC 60870‑5‑104, MicroSCADA SYS600, PRP) Familiarity with ABB/GE/Siemens/Hitachi relay families and substation comms/OT practices Earthing & Compliance Preference for candidates who can produce earthing grid designs and reports (EPR, touch/step potential) and demonstrate compliance against utility standards. Tools Proficiency in AutoCAD / MicroStation for substation deliverables (EPLAN can be a plus, but profiles focused solely on control‑panel drafting won’t suffice for this role). Utility/Standards Exposure (added benefit) Prior work with UK DNO/Transmission (e.g., National Grid) and familiarity with 33 kV connection guidance and submission packages. Current screening outcome (for context) In the latest batch, the majority of profiles were rejected due to being control‑panel/EPLAN heavy and lacking dedicated substation design scope. Request to TA (search keywords / filters to use) Please source profiles with combinations of the following terms in the CVs or summaries: AIS/GIS substation + SLD + GA + layout/section + BOM Protection & Control + CRP + schematics/wiring + CT/VT adequacy + relay settings SCADA + IEC 60870‑5‑104 Earthing grid + EPR/touch/step potential + earthing report Voltage tags: 33 kV/66 kV/132 kV/220 kV/400 kV Tools: AutoCAD (CDEGS optional)
