Job Description

Job Title: Operator – Tank Farm Department Location: VSEZ, Duvvada, Visakhapatnam Department: Tank Farm Shift: Shift basis Reports To: Tank Farm In-charge Job Purpose: To operate, monitor, and maintain the tank farm systems ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant storage and transfer of raw materials, intermediate, and finished biodiesel products. Key Responsibilities: 1. Tank Farm Operations: o Operate pumps, valves, and pipelines for loading, unloading, and transferring liquids in compliance with SOPs. o Monitor storage tanks for levels, temperature, pressure, and quality parameters. o Maintain accurate logs of tank movements, inventories, and operational activities. 2. Safety & Compliance: o Follow all safety protocols, including handling hazardous chemicals safely. o Perform regular safety inspections and report deviations immediately. o Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards. 3. Equipment Handling & Maintenance: o Carry out routine preventive maintenance of tank farm equipment. o Assist in troubleshooting operational issues with pumps, valves, and instruments. o Coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs and calibration of instruments. 4. Documentation & Reporting: o Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including shift reports. o Document any incidents, spills, or deviations and report to the shift supervisor. 5. Coordination: o Coordinate with production, quality, and logistics departments for timely supply of feedstock and dispatch of finished products. o Communicate effectively with team members and superiors to ensure smooth operations. Qualifications & Experience: · Education: Diploma / ITI / Equivalent in Mechanical, Chemical, or related field. · Experience: 1–3 years in tank farm operations, preferably in biodiesel, edible oil, or chemical industries. · Skills: o Knowledge of pumps, valves, and tank instrumentation. o Basic understanding of process operations and safety standards. o Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency situations. Work Environment & Conditions: · Shift-based work including nights, weekends, and holidays. · Exposure to chemicals, high tanks, and heavy equipment. · Strict adherence to PPE and safety protocols is mandatory.
