Role OverviewWe are looking for a Partner - Capital Markets Practice for one of our clients( a boutique law firm) based in Mumbai. You will be responsible for building and scaling a capital markets franchise across equity, debt, and structured products. While an existing client book is not required at the time of onboarding, the role demands strong business development muscle, market connectivity, and the ability to develop a sustainable book of issuers, investors, and transactions over time.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Franchise Building (Core Focus)- Originate new capital markets opportunities across ECM, DCM, private placements, structured products, and capital raises - Build relationships with promoters, corporates, PE/VC funds, family offices, HNIs, and institutional investors - Develop and execute market coverage and origination strategies - Create and scale a proprietary book of clients and deals over time - Drive repeat transactions through long-term client relationshipsTransaction Execution & Advisory- Work closely with internal execution teams on deal structuring, pricing, and closures - Coordinate with legal, compliance, and regulatory teams for smooth execution - Support end-to-end deal lifecycle from origination to closureMarket Intelligence & Strategy- Track capital market trends, valuation benchmarks, and investor appetite - Advise clients on optimal capital structures, timing, and instruments - Provide strategic inputs on new products and market opportunitiesGovernance & Compliance- Ensure adherence to SEBI regulations, exchange norms, and internal policies - Maintain high standards of ethics, transparency, and client confidentialityRequired Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Law - 10-15 years of experience - MBA (Finance), CA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification - Strong understanding of Indian capital markets and SEBI regulations - Experience in investment banking, capital markets, brokerage, or advisoryKey Skills & Competencies- Strong BD / origination mindset with partner-level ownership - Ability to build a book from scratch over time - Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills - Commercial acumen with compliance-first thinking - Strong communication and deal-closing capabilities
