Overview:We are an e-commerce design and development shop building best-in-class digital experiences for high-growth brands.We have a recurring problem: We build beautiful websites, but clients often provide us with "bad" assets—low-resolution product shots, poor lighting, or boring iPhone photography on a desk.We are looking for a Visual Alchemist who can take those subpar source images and turn them into high-end, editorial-grade lifestyle photography using a hybrid workflow of Expert Retouching + Generative AI + Compositing.This is NOT a "Prompt Engineering" role.If your workflow is typing text into Midjourney and sending us the raw result, do not apply. We need a technical artist who treats AI as a generator for raw materials, but relies on Photoshop and compositing skills to finish the job.What You Will Do:The "Rescue" Mission: Take low-quality, amateur product photography and use upscaling/retouching techniques to clean, sharpen, and perfect the product (fixing textures, removing dust/glare, color grading).AI World Building: Use tools like Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, or Adobe Firefly etc to generate photorealistic backgrounds and lifestyle scenes that match the client's specific brand aesthetic.High-End Compositing: Seamlessly blend the "real" product into the "AI" environment. You must understand lighting physics—matching shadows, reflections, and color temperature so the final image looks like a single photograph.Asset Expansion: Use Outpainting to extend images for different aspect ratios (Hero banners vs. Mobile stories) without losing quality.Figma-Ready Delivery: Deliver assets that are designer-friendly. We need layered PSDs (Product, Shadow, Background separated)—not flattened JPEGs—so our UI designers can manipulate elements in Figma.The "Hybrid" Skill Set We Need:You must possess a mix of "Old School" technical skills and "New School" AI abilities.1. The Fundamentals (Non-Negotiable):Expert Photoshop Mastery: You can deep-etch (mask) complex objects like hair or glass perfectly. You understand frequency separation, dodge/burn, and manual color matching.Lighting & Physics: You know how to manually paint shadows and reflections. You understand that if the light comes from the left, the shadow goes to the right.Visual Taste: You have an eye for composition, typography, and high-end e-commerce aesthetics. You know what "luxury" looks like vs. "dropshipping."2. The AI Stack:Generative Proficiency: Deep experience with Ai image generating tools (for ideation/backgrounds) and Photoshop Generative Fill (for clean-up).Advanced Control: Experience with Stable Diffusion (or similar) (Automatic1111 or ComfyUI) is a massive plus. You should know what ControlNet and Inpainting are and how to use them to keep a product's shape consistent.Upscaling: Familiarity with AI upscalers (Topaz, Magnific, etc.) to make small client photos print-ready.Sample ChallengeIf you apply, be prepared for a test: We will send you a mediocre set product shots. Your job will be to populate our figma web designs with fantastic product and lifestyle shots based on that.This position is a full-time remote opportunity with hours from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm EST.
