SME – Big Data & Analytics Experience: 8+ Years Engagement Type: Contract- Part time Duration: 6 Months Work Hours: 15–20 hours per week Location: Remote Start Date: Immediate Role Overview We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Big Data & Analytics to architect and deliver end-to-end content for a comprehensive Big Data & Analytics Certificate Program. This role involves curriculum design, hands-on lab development, assessments, recordings, and close collaboration with client teams during an intensive discovery phase. Key Responsibilities Design a structured certificate program comprising 4–5 courses with up to 25 lessons per course Collaborate with client stakeholders to define Job Task Analysis (JTA) and content strategy Develop clear learning objectives at program, course, and module levels Review and refine course outlines to align with certification and career outcomes Validate and enhance video scripts, code snippets, demos, and technical content Record talking-head videos and screencasts, incorporating internal and client feedback Create 2–3 readings per lesson, including conceptual and step-by-step technical guides Design hands-on labs, quizzes, graded assessments, and exercises Ensure technical accuracy and industry relevance across all content Participate in client workshops and discovery discussions Commit 20–25 hours/week during the Discovery Phase (3–4 weeks) Required Qualifications 8+ years of experience in Big Data, Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Analytics Strong expertise in the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, Pig, HBase) Advanced experience with Apache Spark Deep hands-on experience with Azure data services, including: Azure Synapse Analytics Microsoft Fabric Azure Data Lake (ADLS) Azure Data Factory (ADF) Databricks Purview Stream Analytics Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Apache NiFi, Airflow, Talend Familiarity with cloud data platforms like Amazon Redshift and Google BigQuery Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, Scala, or Java Knowledge of Kafka, Flink, and real-time streaming architectures Solid understanding of data warehousing and data modeling Experience with data visualization tools: Power BI, Tableau, Looker Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills Skills & Technologies Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Pig, HBase, Apache Spark, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Purview, Stream Analytics, Apache NiFi, Airflow, Talend, Redshift, BigQuery, SQL, Python, Scala, Java, Kafka, Flink, Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, Power BI, Tableau, Looker
