Software Engineer II (Cloud /AI)Best Buy™ India is seeking two Software Engineer IIs to play a key role in delivering software products for Best Buy’s Cloud Data and AI Foundation team. You will work with Product Managers, User Experience Designers, Architects, and other team members to modernize and build products that align to the product team’s vision and strategy. The engineering of these products will leverage multi-cloud platforms, human centered design, Agile and DevOps principles to deliver industry leading solutions at high velocity with unrivaled quality. You will work on a team of talented software engineering professionals, leading by example, and mentoring others. All of this will be done by embracing inclusive behaviors, working through ambiguity, demonstrating a strong attention to detail, and thriving in a fast-paced environment.Team Overview:The Data and AI enablement teams are enabling capabilities to accelerate end to end data and AI adoption across Advanced Analytics, Product Teams, and Best Buy Sales and Operations Teams. The broader team is responsible for data strategy, availability, and adoption via self-service tools including AI model registry, activation of models for business, multichannel testing, customer relationship measurement. This team is committed to delivering the right data and AI solutions following the guidelines provided in our Responsible AI principles.This role is on the team enabling the AI Activations function within Google Cloud Platform (GCP). We engineer and operate a unified platform that serves the entire AI lifecycle—from experiment tracking and model optimization to high-performance training and global inference. Our mission is to deliver the essential capabilities that empower AI engineers to build, train, and deploy online and batch models at enterprise scale.Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the delivery of complex solutions, breaking down big problems into smaller pieces - Actively participate in team planning activities - Help ensure the quality and integrity of the SDLC for their team and identify opportunities for improvement in how the team works, through usage of recommended tools and practices. - Able to triage complex issues independently - Aware of the technology landscape, help to plan delivery of coarse-grained business needs spanning multiple applications - Set a consistent example of agile development practices and coach other engineers to work as a team with Product and Experience Design - Help new hires and junior engineers to improve their skills and be more effective - Contribute to and improve internal libraries and tools - Understand the business supported by your applications - Proactively communicate status and issues to their manager - Identify problems and risks of their own work and the work of others - Collaborate with other teams to find creative solutions to customer issues - Show a commitment to delivery deadlines, in particular seasonal and vendor partner deadlines that are critical to Best Buy’s continued successRequirements:- 4+ years of relevant professional experience with a bachelor's degree OR equivalent. Including: - 3+ years of experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure). - 2+ years of experience using Kubernetes for deploying and managing distributed workloads. - 1+ years of experience in optimizing and right-sizing cloud resource utilization for high-performance AI/ML workloads to ensure cost efficiency and maximum throughput.Preferred:- Experience working in an omni-channel retail environment. - Hands-on experience with cloud-native AI services (Vertex AI, SageMaker, Azure ML). - Experience in engineering, deploying, and maintaining high-performance model serving platforms. - Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for ML models (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD). - Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Python for automation. - Familiarity with ML training frameworks (TensorRT, PyTorch, ONNX) and their integration needs. - Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders. - Relevant certifications in GCP or other cloud/AI engineering related areas.About Best Buy:Best Buy™ India is a vibrant hub of tech talent, where we're driving innovation and accelerated business outcomes for Best Buy, our customers, employees and partners every day.
