The Zonal Head – Microfinance & Inclusive Banking (AVP Grade) is responsible for establishing, scaling, and managing end-to-end microfinance operations across West Bengal. The role involves building the business from scratch, driving portfolio growth, ensuring asset quality, regulatory compliance, and leading multi-level teams to achieve sustainable growth while advancing financial inclusion objectives.Key Responsibilities Business Setup & Expansion Established microfinance and inclusive banking operations from ground zero across West Bengal. Planned and executed branch expansion strategy, successfully scaling operations to35 branchesacross the state. Built robust operational frameworks, processes, and governance structures aligned with organizational and regulatory standards. Portfolio Growth & Financial Performance Manage and grow aGross Loan Portfolio (GLP) of ₹200 Cr, ensuring sustainable and profitable growth. Drive customer acquisition, loan disbursements, and portfolio diversification in line with inclusive banking goals. Ensure strong asset quality through effective credit appraisal, monitoring, and collection mechanisms. Monitor PAR, delinquency, and recovery metrics to maintain portfolio health. Sales, Outreach & Financial Inclusion Promote inclusive banking initiatives by extending credit access to underserved and unbanked segments. Strengthen community engagement and field-level outreach to build trust and penetration in rural and semi-urban markets. Collaborate with product and policy teams to tailor microfinance offerings to local market needs. Team Leadership & Capability Building Lead and manage a large, multi-tier team including Branch Managers, Area Managers, and field staff. Recruit, onboard, and develop talent across all operational levels. Drive performance management, productivity tracking, and succession planning. Foster a culture of accountability, ethical lending, and customer-centricity. Risk Management, Compliance & Governance Ensure adherence to RBI, NABARD, and internal regulatory guidelines governing microfinance operations. Strengthen credit discipline, fraud prevention, and internal control mechanisms. Liaise with audit, risk, and compliance teams to ensure timely closure of audit observations. Ensure compliance with social performance and responsible lending practices. Operational Excellence & Process Optimization Drive cost efficiency and productivity through process standardization and operational optimization. Review branch-level MIS, productivity reports, and performance dashboards regularly. Implement corrective actions to improve operational efficiency and customer experience. Strategic Planning & Stakeholder Management Develop and execute zonal business strategies aligned with organizational growth objectives. Coordinate with HO leadership, credit, risk, HR, and IT teams for seamless operations. Represent the organization with external stakeholders, regulators, and local authorities.
