Job Description Deputy General Manager (DGM) - Electrical (Mines) Position: Deputy General Manager (DGM) - Electrical (Electrical License Holder for Mines) Location: Durgapur, West Bengal Industry: Mining Experience: 12-20 years in Mining Electrical Operations Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory) License: Electrical Supervisor License (Mandatory) Job Responsibilities: Electrical System Management: Oversee the maintenance, operation, and upgradation of electrical systems in the mine. Ensure efficient functioning of HEMM (Heavy Earth Moving Machinery), crushers, conveyors, pumps, and substations. Troubleshoot electrical issues and minimize equipment downtime. Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with DGMS (Directorate General of Mines Safety) and other statutory requirements. Implement electrical safety measures to prevent accidents and hazards. Conduct safety audits and ensure risk assessment procedures are followed. Power Distribution & Control: Manage high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) power distribution networks. Monitor and control energy consumption to optimize cost and efficiency. Work closely with utility providers to ensure uninterrupted power supply. Team Leadership & Training: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, supervisors, and electricians. Conduct training programs on electrical safety, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Project Execution & Budgeting: Plan and execute electrical infrastructure projects in alignment with mine expansion. Prepare and manage budgets for electrical operations, ensuring cost control. Vendor & Contractor Management: Coordinate with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and external vendors for procurement and maintenance. Ensure timely completion of AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts) and other service agreements. Automation & Technology Integration: Work on automation and digitalization of electrical systems for better efficiency. Implement predictive maintenance using IoT and SCADA systems. Key Skills & Competencies: Expertise in HT & LT electrical systems Knowledge of DGMS, CEA, and other mining electrical regulations Hands-on experience in troubleshooting electrical issues in mining equipment Strong leadership and problem-solving skills Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD (desirable) Ability to work under pressure in a challenging environment
