This position is responsible for providing confidential, empathetic, and professional guidance to female students across all academic levels, addressing their academic challenges, emotional well-being, and behavioral development. The counsellor collaborates closely with teachers, parents, and administrative staff to identify at-risk students, implement early intervention strategies, and promote holistic student development. By creating a trusting and respectful rapport with students, the Lady Counsellor contributes significantly to improved academic performance, mental health awareness, and overall student success. This role is essential in cultivating a nurturing school culture where every student feels seen, heard, and supported. --- Responsibilities Conduct individual and group counselling sessions to address academic stress, emotional distress, peer relationships, and behavioral concerns. Develop and implement individualized support plans for students with emotional, social, or academic challenges. Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor student progress and coordinate interventions when necessary. Organize and lead workshops on topics such as stress management, self-esteem, healthy relationships, and career guidance. Maintain accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions, student progress, and intervention outcomes. Identify students at risk of emotional or behavioural issues and refer them to specialized mental health professionals when needed. Promote a positive school climate by advocating for mental health awareness and anti-bullying initiatives. Participate in staff training sessions and school-wide events to support student well-being. Stay updated on best practices in adolescent psychology, child development, and educational counselling. --- ### Requirements Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, Education, or a related field. Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in student counselling, preferably in an educational setting. Proven ability to counsel students on academic, emotional, and behavioural issues with empathy and professionalism. Strong interpersonal, active listening, and communication skills with the ability to build trust with students and stakeholders. Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities. Proficiency in maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in counselling. Familiarity with adolescent development and mental health issues is common among school-going girls. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Comfortable working in a school environment with diverse student populations.
