Job DescriptionPosition: Carrier Procurement/ Carrier Business Development Associate - Immediate Joiners PreferedRole SummaryThis is a business development–driven role, requiring approximately 80% outbound calling and carrier engagement and 20% backend coordination and documentation. The role focuses on proactively building, negotiating, and growing a reliable carrier network to support revenue growth, capacity expansion, and operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities1. Carrier Business Development & Outbound Calling (≈80%)• Proactively source, contact, and onboard new carriers through high-volume outbound calls, emails, and follow-ups• Build and expand relationships with small carriers, owner-operators, and regional fleets• Negotiate competitive freight rates for ad-hoc loads, RFPs, and contractual business• Develop strong lane-level market knowledge and effectively pitch value propositions during calls• Continuously procure carriers to support new lanes, niche routes, and business expansion• Act as the primary relationship owner for carriers, ensuring engagement, responsiveness, and repeat business• Work closely with Sales and Operations teams to support new business wins and capacity requirements• Identify and secure backup and contingency carriers through proactive outreach• Strengthen negotiation, objection-handling, and persuasion skills through daily carrier interactions2. Carrier Relationship Management (Calling-Focused)• Maintain regular communication with active carriers to ensure long-term partnerships and satisfaction• Monitor carrier performance KPIs such as on-time delivery, proactive tracking, and service quality• Address and resolve carrier issues through structured follow-ups and action planning• Drive carrier retention and loyalty through consistent relationship management.3. Backend Operations, Compliance & Coordination (≈20%)• Maintain and update internal carrier databases, rate sheets, and profiles• Support carrier vetting and setup, ensuring compliance with authority, COI, contracts, and documentation• Assist with reviewing unbilled invoices, revised invoices, loss loads, and non-freight charges• Monitor and help prevent risks such as double brokerage and fraud• Support contract renewals, SOP updates, and cost negotiations with management• Analyze costs and margins to support profitability improvement initiativesRequired Skills & Competencies• Proven ability and willingness to work in a high-volume outbound calling environment.• Strong verbal & written communication.• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills• Persistence, resilience, and self-motivation in a target-driven role• Clear and professional communication skills (verbal and written)• Strong understanding of market pricing and brokerage dynamics• Comfort working with numbers, margins, and performance metrics• Proficiency in MS Office / Google Sheets and basic reporting toolsPerformance Metrics• Number of outbound calls and carrier connects• New carrier onboarding and activation• Rate competitiveness and margin contribution• Carrier performance KPIs (OTD, tracking, responsiveness)• Network growth and carrier retentionProfessional Exposure & other terms• 1-3 years of relevant experience in Logistics industry.• Immediate joiners will be preferred.• Should be open to work in night shifts.
