Production Engineer – Pune6-Months Training in GermanyRole SummaryHire a hands-on technical professional with experience in filter manufacturing and machine maintenance who will undergo 6 months of intensive training in Germany on a new production line and then lead operations as a Supervisor in Pune once the line is transferred.Key ResponsibilitiesDuring Training in Germany (6 months)- Learn end-to-end operations of the new production line: setup, operation, changeovers, maintenance routines, and quality checks. - Understand documentation, SOPs, preventive maintenance schedules, and troubleshooting procedures. - Participate in commissioning, trial runs, and qualification activities. - Document learnings and create India-ready SOPs, job aids, and training materials. - Shadow German supervisors and maintenance engineers to master control systems on the line. - Align on EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards and quality systemsAfter Transfer to Pune (Supervisor Role)- Lead daily production operations: scheduling, resource allocation, shift management, and line performance. - Ensure product quality, yield, and OEE targets; drive continuous improvement (Kaizen/Lean). - Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance with a strong focus on hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical reliability. - Train and upskill operators/technicians on SOPs learned in Germany. - Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain for smooth ramp-up. - Manage documentation: work instructions, control plans, maintenance logs, and change management.Required Qualifications- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering or equivalent. - 3–7 years experience in filter manufacturing with exposure to winding, glueing and assembly processes. - Proven hands-on machine maintenance with strong hydraulics and pneumatics fundamentals; able to read schematics and perform systematic troubleshooting. - Experience with production supervision or leading small teams on a line (line leader/shift in-charge). - Familiarity with quality systems and basic statistical quality tools (SPC, control charts). - English proficiency (spoken/written) sufficient for training abroad and documentation; willingness to learn basic German technical terms (nice to have). - Readiness to travel and stay in Germany for 6 months (company-arranged), including flexibility for shift training.Technical Skills (Core)- Filter Manufacturing: media handling, winding machines, glueing, end-cap assembly, integrity testing. - Hydraulics&Pneumatics: pumps, valves, actuators, hydraulic circuits, pressure/flow control, preventive maintenance on hydraulic power units. - Mechanical Maintenance: alignment, bearings, lubrication. - Controls/Automation (preferred): basic PLC/HMI familiarity (alarms, parameters, recipes), sensor calibration, safety relays/interlocks. - Quality & Process Control: visual inspection, dimensional checks, functional tests, control plans, FMEA awareness. - Lean Tools: 5S, SMED (changeover reduction), Kaizen, standard work, visual management.Soft Skills & Leadership- Strong communicator; capable of translating complex procedures into clear SOPs for operators. - Team leadership: coaching, conflict resolution, performance feedback. - Problem-solving mindset; data-oriented decision-making. - High accountability, integrity, and cross-cultural collaboration (Germany–India interface). - Adaptability and resilience during technology transfer and ramp-up.Additional/Preferred- Experience with OEE tracking analysis. - Exposure to ERP for production orders, material movements, and maintenance notifications. - Knowledge of EHS procedures and incident reporting. - Experience starting up new lines or participating in technology transfers. - Basic German (A1–A2) or willingness to attend language crash course before/during training.
