The Director – E-Commerce will lead and scale Performics India’s E-Commerce and Retail Media practice, driving growth, innovation, and excellence across marketplaces, quick commerce, and emerging retail media networks. This role is responsible for setting the strategic vision, owning P&L performance, strengthening client partnerships, and building a high-performing, future-ready team aligned with Performics’ performance-first philosophy. The role will work closely with marquee Indian and global brands, platform partners, and internal capability teams to deliver measurable business outcomes.Key Responsibilities:Strategic & Business Leadership- Define and lead the E-Commerce strategy and roadmap across marketplaces, retail media, and quick commerce for a set of key clients. - Partner with senior client stakeholders to drive long-term growth, innovation, and business impact. - Stay ahead of industry trends across Retail Media Networks, automation, AI, and platform evolution, translating them into scalable solutions. - Identify emerging opportunities across platforms, formats, and technologies. - Demonstrate thought leadership by developing and presenting client industry/market research findings, e-commerce search trends, e-commerce growth areas, new models to consider and relevant case studies. - Building strategic annual plans and ensuring effective presentations and delivery of the same. - Handling P&L activities and mentoring the team. - Be the thought leader and solution expert for e-commerce.Client Growth, Business Growth & Partnerships- Own senior client relationships and act as a trusted strategic advisor. - Lead growth agendas including account expansion, innovation roadmaps, and strategic pilots. - Drive incremental revenue through upsell, cross-sell, and expansion of services. - Support new business pitches and contribute to agency-wide growth initiatives. - Ensure delivery excellence, client satisfaction, and retention.Media & Performance Excellence- Ensure best-in-class execution across Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa, Myntra, Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, and emerging retail media networks. - Partner closely with these platforms to deliver client objectives, drive innovation and A/B testing on new platform features and maximize efficiency. - Lead adoption of automation and data solutions (e.g., Pacvue, Amazon Marketing Cloud, 1DS, Gobblecube, Shelf Analytics, Data Dashboards etc.). - Drive operational efficiency through automation, tools, and scalable processes. - Champion performance measurement frameworks focused on growth, efficiency, and incrementality. - Partner with Analytics, Tech, and Product teams to scale proprietary solutions.Team Leadership & Capability Building- Build, mentor, and inspire high-performing teams across E-Commerce strategy, media, analytics, and operations. - Create clear career paths, succession plans, and capability frameworks. - Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. - Address talent challenges proactively through structure, coaching, and engagement.Cross-Functional Collaboration- Work closely with Search, Social, Programmatic, Analytics, Tech, and Creative teams to deliver integrated performance solutions. - Collaborate with global Performics and Publicis teams to drive best practices and innovation.Key Success Metrics- E-Commerce revenue growth and profitability. - Client satisfaction, retention and growth. - Media efficiency and performance outcomes (ROAS, CAC, Incrementality) - Adoption of automation and data-led solutions. - Team engagement, retention, and leadership depth.Qualifications & Experience- 8–10+ years of experience in performance marketing, digital media, or e-commerce, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role. - Strong hands-on expertise across E-Commerce and Retail Media platforms. - Proven experience owning P&L and driving profitable growth. - Track record of building and scaling high-performing teams. - Experience working with large enterprise clients and FMCG / Beauty / Retail brands preferred. - Strong data, analytics, and performance mindset.Key Attributes- Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen. - Deep understanding of E-Commerce & Retail Media ecosystems (especially India market). - Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. - Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. - Curious, future-focused, and innovation-led mindset.Why Join Us- Opportunity to lead and shape a fast-growing E-Commerce practice. - Work with marquee brands and complex business challenges. - Strong culture of innovation, ownership, and growth. - Platform to build industry-leading solutions at scale.
