Position:NPD Project Engineer- Offshore (Cummins)Candidate skill set:Mandatory Technical skills/must haves(Without these, the resume will not be considered): B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering Expert in designing with Creo and Windchill in the field of mechanical engineering Expertise in casting design with some exposure to automotive domain Good understanding of GD&T in relation to manufacturing processes Good understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly methodologies Experience in using DFMEA Experience in design methodologies and tools like Design Review, Virtual Review, tolerancestack-up etc. Good understanding of product lifecycle and hands on experience in version control andmanagement Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, the candidate must be able tohold meaningful discussions with counterparts in the US and UK.Good to haves: Some hands-on experience in designs related to Internal Combustion Engine components Some hands-on experience in designing of forgings or sheet metal and tubing for IC engines Some experience in supporting complex design built consisting of multiple subcomponentsand subassemblies Some experience in investigation of problems and determination of practicable solutions foritKey Job responsibilities: The hired candidate will work with a team of other engineers to design components andsubsystems of various types of Internal Combustion Engines. He/she should communicate well with the team, understand the requirements, and developthe design in a clean and efficient manner. Active communication with variousstakeholders, both within and outside the organisation, is a must. The candidate will be responsible for doing research on how to implement variousrequirements and making informed decisions in a timely manner. Strong problem-solvingskills as well as time and task management skills are essential to perform well in thisposition. The candidate is expected to understand and utilise appropriate good designpractices and methodologies. The candidate is expected to actively seek advice and inputs from various experts/seniordesign engineers and supervisors on specific functional areas. The candidates is expected to maintain exhaustive documentation of all the designs andproblems etc.
