Job Description

Role Overview The Business Head – Electronics & Semiconductor will lead the development, scaling, and long-term strategic direction of JK Paper’s entry and expansion into the electronics and semiconductor ecosystem. The role requires a deep understanding of PCB/PCBA manufacturing, substrates, OSAT, semiconductor components, government incentive schemes (PLI/DLI/ISM 2.0), and global supply-chain dynamics. The leader will drive partnerships, P&L, technology roadmap, operations setup, and stakeholder engagement with government bodies, OEMs, anchor customers, and JV/technology partners.Key Responsibilities 1. Strategy & Business Leadership Define the5–10 year strategic roadmapfor JK’s electronics & semiconductor vertical. Identify the right value-chain plays:PCB, HDI, IC substrates, OSAT, components, compound semiconductors (SiC/GaN), ATMP , etc. Develop theinvestment thesisfor each opportunity, with business cases, capex modelling, and ROI. Conduct competitive benchmarking globally and identify key whitespace opportunities. 2. Partnerships, M&A & Ecosystem Building Lead engagement withtechnology partners , potential JVs, and global players for transfer of technology (ToT) and manufacturing support. Evaluateacquisitionsor minority/majority stakes in promising companies Build relationships with anchor customers:automotive, telecom, defence, power electronics, consumer electronics . Represent JK in ecosystem discussions withindustry bodies (IESA, ELCINA), suppliers, and global supply chains . 3. Government Engagement & Incentive Management Own the interface withMeitY, Invest India, State Governmentsfor securing incentives underPLI, DLI, ISM 2.0, OSAT/ATMP schemes, semiconductor policy , and state subsidies. Manage compliance, milestone achievement and financial claims related to incentives. Ensure policy intelligence—track all government updates and align business strategy accordingly. 4. Business Development & Customer Acquisition Develop a strongcustomer pipeline Convert key OEMs intoanchor customersfor long-term offtake agreements. Set and achieve annualrevenue, margin, and order-book targets . Drive pricing strategy, commercials, and negotiations. 5. Operations & Technical Oversight Build and operationalize aworld-class manufacturing systemusing lean, TPM, Six Sigma, and TQM methodologies. Drive technology roadmap, includingautomation, yield optimization, material procurement, and vendor qualification . 6. Financial Management & P&L Ownership Own theP&L , budgeting, capex, and operational performance. Monitor key financial metrics: yield, throughput, OEE, EBITDA margins, and ROIC. Ensure timely scale-up to reach profitability targets. 7. Team Building & Leadership Build a cross-functional team acrossR&D, manufacturing, supply chain, BD, regulatory, and quality . Mentor and develop talent, creating a high-performance culture. Lead reviews with CMD, Board and senior leadership.Required Experience and Qualification Mandatory B.Tech in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical; M.Tech preferred with 15–25 years of experience inelectronics manufacturing / semiconductor ecosystem . MBA from a reputed institute (desirable), Certifications in semiconductor manufacturing and/or operations will be an added advantage. Deep knowledge ofPCB/PCBA, HDI, IC substrates, OSAT/ATMP, compound semiconductors , or advanced packaging. Proven ability toset up and scale manufacturing units(greenfield or brownfield). Strong commercial acumen and experience managingP&L > Rs. 500 crore / USD $50–100M . Experience working withgovernment incentive schemes(PLI, DLI, state subsidies). Demonstrated success insecuring partnershipswith global electronics/semiconductor players. Preferred Prior experience with multinational companies (e.g., AT&S, Unimicron, TSMC supply chain, ASE, Amkor, Foxconn, Tata Electronics, CG Power, Syrma). Exposure todefence electronics, automotive electronics, telecom modules , or power electronics.
