Job Description

A PCB Design Engineer plays a critical role in creating high-quality printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for various electronic systems. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal PCB designs that meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.& :.:• Develop PCB layouts for both high-speed electronics (such as digital circuits, RF, and high-frequency designs) and power electronics (such as motor drives, inverters, and power supplies, power converters, etc.).• Optimize component placement, routing, and layer stack up to achieve signal integrity, minimize noise, and ensure thermal management.• Consider design constraints, such as form factor, mechanical constraints, and manufacturing processes.• Design 4–8 layer PCBs for power electronics• Push-pull, half-bridge, full-bridge DC-DC converters.• MOSFET/IGBT power stages.• Gate-drive and control circuits.• Implement high-current, High voltage, low-inductance layouts.• Perform thermal-aware PCB design (copper pours, thermal vias, heatsinking)• Ensure EMI/EMC-optimized layouts (loop minimization, grounding, shielding)• Generate: Gerbers, Fabrication & assembly drawings, BoM and pick-and-place files.• Work closely with hardware engineers during schematic-to-layout transition• Support PCB bring-up, debugging, and layout revisions.() :• Perform SI simulations to analyze signal integrity issues, including impedance matching, crosstalk, and reflections.• Mitigate SI problems through proper trace routing, termination techniques, and controlled impedance design..():• Apply DFM principles to create PCB layouts that are manufacturable, cost-effective, and yield high-quality results during fabrication and assembly.• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to address DFM concerns..()() :• Implement best practices to minimize EMI/EMC issues, such as proper grounding, shielding, and filtering.• Understand EMC standards (e.g., FCC, CISPR) and ensure compliance..:• Create accurate and detailed design documentation, including schematics, layout guidelines, and fabrication drawings.• Collaborate with hardware engineers to capture system-level requirements.• Verify PCB designs through prototyping, testing, and analysis..():• Incorporate DFT features into the PCB layout to facilitate testing during production and assembly.• Add test points, boundary scan (JTAG) interfaces, and other diagnostic features..:• Choose appropriate components based on electrical, thermal, and mechanical requirements.• Maintain an organized component library for efficient design reuse..:• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, firmware developers, and project managers.• Communicate design decisions, trade-offs, and technical challenges effectively.:• A relevant degree (Bachelor’s or Associate Degree) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.• Experience: up to 3 years• Certifications: Consider certifications such as IPC (e.g., IPC Certified Interconnect Designer), CID (Certified Interconnect Designer), and REACH (for environmental compliance) or any other relevant certification is preferred but not mandatory.:. - :Proficiency in PCB design software (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Mentor PADS)..:Understand failure mechanisms and reliability considerations in extreme environments..:Deploy successful mitigation strategies to address project risks..:Familiarity with PCB fabrication techniques, materials, and assembly processes..:Consider thermal aspects during layout design..:Understand analog and digital circuit design principles.. //// :Knowledge of compliance standards and testing procedures.
