About the Department Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.Key Responsibilities End-to-End Investment Facilitation & Business Development • Identify, source, and engage high-potential maritime investment leads across ports, shipping, shipbuilding, inland waterways, coastal infrastructure and maritime manufacturing. • Conduct targeted outreach to global and domestic maritime companies, shipyards, port operators, maritime technology providers, marine engineering firms, and logistics players. • Lead end-to-end investor interactions—from first touchpoint to grounding—ensuring smooth communication and high-quality engagement throughout the investment lifecycle. Investment Promotion • Plan, organize, and execute domestic and international sector-speciic roadshows, and maritime outreach events. • Conduct roundtables, webinars, and thematic sessions with embassies/missions, maritime associations, OEM groups and global companies. • Develop and implement innovative strategies for maritime investment pipeline generation, including cluster mapping, shipbuilding ecosystem outreach and port- led industrialization. Pipeline Building & Lead Management • Own the complete investment pipeline for the maritime sector, ensuring timely movement of leads towards evaluation, decision-making, and conversion. • Categorize leads based on investment value, strategic relevance, lifecycle stage and level of engagement. • Work closely with central government, state governments and port authorities to drive lead progress and investor handholding.Sector Expertise, Project Structuring & Policy Advisory • Leverage deep understanding of the global maritime landscape, including trends in port competitiveness, coastal shipping, global shipbuilding, decarbonisation and maritime technology. • Demonstrate strong expertise in the Indian maritime ecosystem, covering port governance models, central government initiatives, shipyards, inland waterways, shipping regulations, incentives and maritime cluster development. • Provide advisory support on project structuring, including PPP models, asset monetization frameworks and maritime infrastructure policy. • Utilize strong understanding of the shipbuilding value chain, marine components manufacturing and vendor ecosystems to support targeted investment outreach. Bilateral, multilateral & G2G engagements • Support sector-related deliverables within G2G platforms such as Joint Working Groups, CEO Forums, and bilateral mechanisms. • Prepare briefs, presentations and talking points and ensure timely follow-ups for high-quality outcomes in international engagements. Knowledge Collateral, Sector Research & Investor Queries • Develop high-quality maritime intelligence reports, including country profiles, sector deep-dives, port benchmarking studies, shipping trends, and shipbuilding ecosystem analysis. • Prepare sector-specific collateral, investment guides, policy notes, and country briefs for internal and external stakeholders. • Respond to investor queries with accuracy, depth, and adherence to defined turnaround times. IRM, Data & Website Management • Maintain accurate and timely updates on CRM systems regarding investor meetings, advisory work, project issues, and policy interventions. • Regularly update sector webpages with relevant blogs, reports, success stories, and knowledge content. Teamwork & Collaboration • Collaborate effectively with internal teams (state facilitation, country, and senior leadership) to ensure seamless investor support.Qualifications Master’s degree preferred (Maritime Studies, Port Management, International Business, Engineering, or related fields). Experience in maritime sector, port development, shipping, logistics, shipbuilding, or government consulting. Strong stakeholder management experience: existing networks in the maritime ecosystem will be an advantage. Strong communication, analytical, and presentation skills. Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Demonstrated skills in sector research, project evaluation and business development.
