Job Description – Proposal Engineer (Biotech Equipment)Location: PuneExperience: 3–5 YearsEducation: B.E. / B.Tech – Chemical Engineering or BiotechnologyRole OverviewWe are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading Biotech EPC projects company, for the position of Proposal Engineer. The role involves preparing techno-commercial proposals and cost estimates for biotech equipment such as fermentors, bioprocess skids, and sterile vessels, with a strong focus on bioprocess understanding and project requirements.Key Responsibilities- Prepare techno-commercial proposals for biotech and bioprocess equipment including fermentors, skids, and sterile vessels. - Develop cost estimates and pricing covering equipment, bought-out items, fabrication, utilities, and services. - Review and interpret URS, P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and technical specifications. - Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, procurement, and sales teams to finalize technical scope and costing. - Prepare BOQs, cost break-ups, commercial assumptions, and exclusions as per client and project requirements. - Support pre-bid and post-bid technical clarifications and client discussions. - Ensure compliance with biotech/pharma standards, GMP guidelines, and internal quality procedures. - Maintain proposal documentation, pricing history, and bid records.Required Skills & Competencies- Strong understanding of bioprocess equipment and systems. - Proven experience in proposal engineering and costing for biotech or pharma equipment. - Knowledge of fermentation processes, CIP/SIP systems, and sterile equipment design. - Ability to interpret engineering drawings and process documents. - Good analytical, coordination, and communication skills. - Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and proposal preparation tools.Preferred Experience- Exposure to Biotech / Pharma EPC project environments. - Experience working with equipment vendors and subcontractors. - Familiarity with GMP, ASME BPE, and regulatory expectations in biotech facilities.
