Job Description :Skyroot Aerospace is seeking a Procurement Engineer for the SCM function within the Avionics department to manage the strategic sourcing and supply chain of mission-critical avionics components for launch vehicles and rockets. This role ensures reliable, cost-effective procurement of electronic systems vital for space missions, maintaining rigorous aerospace standards and launch timelines.Key ResponsibilitiesSupplier Sourcing & Qualification- Source and qualify suppliers for avionics components including PCBs, PCBA, connectors, wiring harnesses, sensors, and RF modules tailored for launch vehicle applications. - Perform supplier audits, risk assessments, and qualification testing compliant with AS9100 and space-grade standards. - Negotiate contracts, pricing, MOQs, and lead times to support high-reliability rocket avionics supply chain.Procurement Planning & Execution- Analyze BOMs, engineering requirements, and launch vehicle production schedules to create precise procurement forecasts. - Issue POs, expedite deliveries, and manage supply disruptions to meet critical path deadlines for rocket integration. - Mitigate obsolescence and shortages through dual-sourcing and alternative material approvals for flight hardware.Technical & Compliance Coordination- Partner with avionics design and systems teams to validate component specs, drawings, and revisions for rocket compatibility. - Ensure full traceability, serialization, counterfeit mitigation, and certification for all procured flight avionics parts. - Support incoming inspections, FAI, and integration readiness with SCM, QA, and manufacturing teams.Vendor Performance & Optimization- Track supplier KPIs (on-time delivery, quality yield, cost variance) and implement improvement plans. - Drive cost reduction, inventory optimization, and supply chain resilience for Skyroot's launch vehicle programs. - Maintain accurate ERP/MRP records for avionics inventory, forecasting, and mission-critical analytics.Required SkillsTechnical Skills- Strong knowledge of avionics electronics procurement for aerospace/rockets, including PCBs, harnesses, and high-reliability components. - Familiarity with space industry standards (AS9100, ECSS, IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) and radiation-hardened parts. - Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, BOM analysis, and supply chain software.Soft Skills- Excellent negotiation and cross-functional communication skills. - Proactive problem-solving in fast-paced, mission-driven environments. - High attention to detail with accountability for quality and schedule adherence.Educational QualificationB.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Avionics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
