About Orbitt Space Orbitt Space is developing next-generationelectric propulsion systemsandadvanced power electronicsforultra-low Earth orbit (ULEO)satellites. Our work focuses onplasma thrusters ,High Voltage Power Systems,andGaN-based high-frequency power converters— pioneering technology for sustainable access to space. Role Overview We are seeking aPower Electronics Engineer – II (R&D)withhands-on experience in wide bandgap (GaN) device-based dc-dc converter designandMHz-range RF power electronics .You will design, develop, and test high-frequencyRF generatorsandadvanced converter topologiesincluding Class E, Class EF, half-bridge, and full-bridge systems for plasma propulsion and wireless power transfer applications.This is acore R&D rolewhere your innovations will directly influence the next generation of Orbitt’s propulsion and energy systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and developRF power generatorsoperating in theMHz frequency rangefor plasma thrusters. Develop and optimizeGaN-based high-frequency converter topologies(Class E, EF, half-bridge, full-bridge, Matching network design). Design customgate driver circuitsand switching mechanisms for wide bandgap devices. Work onresonant and soft-switching converter architecturesusingMATLAB/Simulink, LTspice, Orcad or PLECS . Design and validateinductive power transfersystems at MHz frequency range. Interface withDSP controllers (TI C2000x)for converter control and modulation. Performbench-level testing ,debugging , andcharacterizationusing oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers. Design analog and mixed-signal circuits usingOp-Amps, ADCs, PWM controllers, and gate drivers . Document test results, design methodologies, and contribute to technical reports for grants and investors.Minimum Qualifications M.E./M.Tech or PhDin Power Electronics , Electrical, Electronics, or related field. Minimum 4 yearsof hands-on experience inpower converter design and testing . Must have:Practical experience withwide bandgap semiconductor (GaN)devices and theirgate driving circuits . Experience inMHz-range RF power electronicsandresonant topologies(Class E, EF, half-bridge, full-bridge). Strong understanding ofPWM and resonant converter controlusingDSPs (e.g., TI C2000x) . Proficiency withPCB design for high-frequency circuits ,hardware testing , andsignal integrity management .Preferred Experience RF power systems forplasma generation ,induction heating , orindustrial RF applications . Familiarity withwireless power transfertechnologies and resonant link optimization. Knowledge ofthermal management ,EMI/EMC , andspace-grade reliability standards .
