Job DescriptionThe Mechatronics Engineer will be responsible for the design, integration, verification, and validation of electromechanical subsystems for surgical robotic platforms. The role requires close collaboration with electronics, embedded software, mechanical, and clinical teams to translate system-level requirements into robust and testable hardware solutions.Key Responsibilities- Define and plan system architecture for electromechanical subsystems. - Specify wiring and harness requirements. - Integrate electronics, motors, encoders, sensors, and actuators. - Own subsystem development including part selection, POC builds, and benchmarking. - Perform subsystem verification and validation, including actuator benchmarking. - Develop test jigs, fixtures, and validation processes. - Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and logic analyzers. - Develop basic embedded firmware for POCs using C/C++. - Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams to support a quality-driven development process.Required Skills- Strong understanding of electromechanical systems and system architecture. - Experience with motor control, sensors, encoders, and control systems fundamentals. - Hands-on electronics integration and testing experience. - Ability to work across mechanical, electronics, and software domains.Good to Have- Basics of PCB design and manufacturing. - Knowledge of communication protocols (I2C, UART, CAN, SPI). - Experience with CAD tools for basic mechanical or harness reviews.
