Job Title: Senior Furniture Technical DesignerLocation: Andheri, MumbaiCompany: Stax LivingAbout the RoleStax Living is seeking a highly skilled Technical Designer & Engineer to join our team in Andheri, Mumbai. This is a critical role responsible for transforming aesthetic concepts into precise, production-ready technical blueprints. You will be the technical lead for our upholstered and case-good ranges, including luxury sofas, armchairs, and beds.The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of furniture construction, joinery, and upholstery ergonomics, with expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks.Key Responsibilities* Technical Engineering: Develop comprehensive 3D models and parametric designs using SolidWorks for sofas, armchairs, beds, and other furniture items.* Production Drawings: Generate high-precision 2D technical drawings, including exploded views, joinery details, and assembly instructions for the factory floor.* Upholstery Logic: Design internal frames (wood/metal) for upholstered items, ensuring structural integrity while accounting for foam densities and fabric tolerances.* BOM Management: Create accurate Bills of Materials (BOM), including hardware specifications, timber requirements, and fabric consumption lists.* Prototyping: Collaborate with the production team to oversee the development of prototypes, troubleshooting design flaws before mass manufacturing.* Process Optimization: Refine existing designs to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce material waste.Required Skills & Qualifications* Education: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or Furniture Technology.* Software Mastery: 3+ years of professional experience in SolidWorks or autodesk inventor is (mandatory). Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, or SWOOD is a significant plus.* Domain Expertise: Proven experience in the furniture industry, specifically with sofas, armchairs, and beds.
