The Global Supply Organization is a multi-continental Function that comprises of the entire Value Chain from product conceptualization to delivery to the commercial front. Within the Global Supply Organization are included, Research & Development, Project Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain Management and Logistics.Role:Lead – Demand Planning DesignationSenior Manager Base location:Pawane, NaviMumbai, India Reporting To:Vice President Supply ChainRole Purpose TheSenior Manager – Demand Planningwill be responsible for driving accurate demand forecasting, ensuring optimal inventory availability across markets, and aligning supply, production, and distribution to minimize sales loss and improve service levels. The position plays a critical role in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) through close coordination with market, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.Key Responsibilities Demand Forecast & Planning Develop and maintain sales forecasts based on historical sales trends, seasonality, tender pipelines, and market intelligence. Collaborate closely with country managers, distributors, and sales teams to capture demand changes, and improve forecast accuracy. Continuously review forecast performance and implement corrective actions to enhance demand accuracy.Inventory & Stock Management Ensure adequate material availability across all markets in line with demand forecasts and stocking norms. Define and align stocking norms with markets, considering sales velocity, seasonality, safety stock requirements, and replenishment lead times. Proactively identify risks of stockouts or excess inventory and initiate timely mitigation actions.Supply & Replenishment Planning Generate monthly and quarterly replenishment plans to align demand requirements with production and procurement capabilities. Coordinate with the manufacturing team to translate demand plans into feasible production schedules. Monitor execution of replenishment plans and ensure adherence to agreed supply timelines. Monitor timely dispatch of finished goods in accordance with agreed delivery schedules. Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to resolve supply bottlenecks and delivery constraints. Ensure smooth flow of materials from production to markets.Performance Monitoring & Reporting Track, analyze, and publish key indicators (KIs) including: Sales loss due to stockouts Inventory availability and coverage Forecast / demand accuracy Supply adherence and OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) performance Prepare regular dashboards and reports for management review and decision-making.S&OP Process Management Prepare input for monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycles. Support cross-functional alignment between sales, supply chain, manufacturing, and finance during S&OP discussions. Highlight risks, opportunities, and action plans to balance demand and supply.Qualifications, Experience & Skills Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Pharmacy, Business, Life Sciences or Relevant disciplines in Humanities Minimum 10+ years of demand planning / supply chain roles within pharmaceutical industry preferably within the pharmaceutical industries.Education Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Pharmacy, Business, Life Sciences or Relevant disciplines in Humanities Post Graduate Studies (PGP/MBA/PGDM) in Supply Chain or Operations preferred.Experience Minimum 10+ years of demand planning / supply chain roles within pharmaceutical industry preferably within the pharmaceutical industries. Experience in the African Markets or ROW Markets is an added advantage. Excellent consulting skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Strong personal credibility and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with senior business leaders and teams alike. Experience working cross-culturally with diverse colleagues. Strong analytical skill set required to drive problem-solving and innovative solutions.Skills & Attributes Strong knowledge of generic pharma supply chain and demand planning Experience handling Africa or ROW markets preferred Strong analytical and forecasting skills Excellent coordination and stakeholder management capabilities Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred), MS Excel, Analytical tools, Power BI, Tableau and planning tools
