Production Designer & Shop Floor EngineerCompany: Stax LivingLocation: Vasai Factory, PalgharReports to: Factory Manager / Head of ProductionJob PurposeThe Production Designer & Shop Floor Engineer is responsible for turning high-level designs into technical reality. Based directly at our Vasai factory, you will create precise technical drawings, then step onto the shop floor to ensure our carpenters and craftsmen execute those designs to perfection.Key Responsibilities1. Technical Design & SolidWorks Modeling• 3D Modeling: Create detailed 3D models of furniture and home products using SolidWorks.• Production Drawings: Generate comprehensive 2D technical drawings (shop drawings) including exploded views, joinery details, and dimensions for the production team.• BOM Creation: Work with the Andheri back office to provide accurate material lists based on technical designs.2. On-Floor Technical Supervision• Briefing Craftsmen: Explain technical drawings to carpenters, welders, and other labor, ensuring they understand the joinery, tolerances, and assembly sequences.• Problem Solving: Resolve any technical issues that arise during the cutting or assembly process on the factory floor.3. Quality Control & Specifications• Spec Adherence: Conduct regular checks during the production process to ensure the physical product matches the SolidWorks specifications exactly.• Measurement Verification: Use precision tools to verify that the final outputs meet the required dimensions and structural standards before finishing.Required Skills & Qualifications• Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks is mandatory. (Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus).• Technical Background: Deep understanding of furniture construction, carpentry techniques, joinery, and material properties (wood, metal, etc.).• Language/Communication: Ability to communicate fluently in Hindi to effectively explain complex drawings to the labor force.• Industrial Experience: 3+ years in a furniture or manufacturing factory environment.• Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or Interior Technical Design.
