About the RoleAs a Staff Analog Design Engineer at Analog Devices, you will lead the design and development of complex analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, working with significant latitude to solve challenging technical problems. You'll provide technical leadership on critical projects, contribute to architectural decisions, and mentor less experienced engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role requires deep technical expertise combined with broader business understanding to drive innovation and ensure successful product delivery across multiple applications and markets.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership: Lead architecture development and optimization for complex analog and mixed-signal ICs using industry-standard tools, providing direction and expertise to project teamsDesign and Development: Design and develop sophisticated analog and mixed-signal ICs including sensor interfaces, data converters, multiplexers, active/passive filters, and power distribution systemsCircuit Design and Simulation: Perform advanced block and transistor-level design, simulation, evaluation, and debugging to ensure optimal performance across process, voltage, and temperature variationsCross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product definers, verification engineers, process engineers, test engineers, and application engineers to ensure designs meet performance objectives and business goalsMentorship and Knowledge Transfer: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, reviewing their work and contributing to their professional developmentInnovation and Problem Solving: Contribute to the development of new theories, methods, and architectural approaches to solve complex design challengesProject Planning and Management: Significantly contribute to project proposals, staffing decisions, and budgeting forecasts that impact crucial organizational objectivesMust Have SkillsAnalog Circuits Design: Expert-level ability to design and analyze complex analog circuits including amplifiers, filters, and data converters with the skill to optimize designs for specific applications and lead architectural decisionsMixed-Signal IC Design: Advanced expertise in designing and integrating analog/digital circuits in complex mixed-signal environments with consideration for signal integrity, noise mitigation, and power optimizationCircuit Architecture Development: Demonstrated ability to develop innovative circuit architectures that balance performance requirements with practical implementation constraints and business objectivesSimulation Modeling and Analysis: Advanced proficiency with simulation tools such as SPICE, MATLAB, and Cadence Design Suite to validate complex designs across various conditions and lead statistical validation effortsIntegrated Circuit Layout: Deep understanding of physical IC layout considerations and experience optimizing layouts for performance, including guiding layout engineers on critical aspectsCMOS Technology: Comprehensive knowledge of CMOS circuit design principles and implementation techniques for integrated circuits with the ability to make architectural tradeoffsData Converter Design: Expert-level knowledge of ADC/DAC design principles with demonstrated ability to optimize critical performance parameters and implement innovative architecturesPreferred Education and ExperienceMaster's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field7+ years of relevant experience in analog circuit designExperience with successful IC tape-outs and first-pass siliconPublication record or patents in analog/mixed-signal design
