The role involves database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and close coordination with application and infrastructure teams.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and support DB2 (z/OS) and IMS DB environmentsInstall, configure, upgrade, and maintain DB2 and IMS databasesPerform database performance monitoring and tuningManage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery proceduresHandle space management, reorganization, and database cleanupResolve database-related incidents and provide production supportImplement security, access control, and compliance standardsSupport application deployments and schema changesWork with development teams for SQL optimization and design reviewsDocument procedures and maintain operational runbooksRequired SkillsStrong hands-on experience in DB2 DBA on z/OSGood working knowledge of IMS DB (DL/I)Experience with DB2 utilities (REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY, RECOVER, LOAD, UNLOAD)Knowledge of IMS utilities and database recovery processesProficiency in JCL, TSO/ISPFExperience with performance tools (Omegamon, RMF, or similar)Understanding of mainframe storage and dataset management
