Any longer will not be considered.Contract Type: Freelance, self-employed contractFully remote from IndiaMust work European business hoursRole OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Camunda Developer with hands-on, production experience across both Camunda 7 and Camunda 8 (Zeebe). This is a delivery-critical role requiring deep technical expertise in workflow automation, event-driven architectures, and microservices, combined with light leadership or SME level management experience.The successful candidate will work end to end on complex process automation initiatives and act as a technical reference point within a distributed engineering team.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and deploy end to end workflow solutions using Camunda 7 and Camunda 8 (Zeebe)Lead or significantly contribute to minimum two full lifecycle Camunda implementations covering design through productionModel complex business processes using BPMN and decision logic using DMNDevelop and maintain Java and Spring Boot based servicesImplement external tasks, workers, and event driven workflowsBuild and integrate REST APIs and microservices with Camunda enginesDesign and manage Kafka based data flow and streaming architecturesHandle processing of high volume data streams and eventsManage process instance handling under high load and performance sensitive environmentsConfigure and optimize Elasticsearch for process and operational searchSupport Camunda configuration, customization, and licensing considerationsContribute to containerized deployments and CI/CD pipelines using DockerProvide technical leadership, mentoring, or SME support to the teamMandatory Technical RequirementsProven, hands-on experience with both Camunda 7 and Camunda 8 (Zeebe) in production environmentsClear understanding of architectural, operational, and licensing differences between Camunda 7 and Camunda 8Strong BPMN and DMN modelling expertiseSolid Java and Spring Boot development experienceMicroservices architecture and REST integration experienceKafka experience for data flow, event streaming, and asynchronous processingExperience handling large scale process instances and system loadElasticsearch configuration and usage experienceCamunda customization and extension experienceDevOps exposure including Docker and CI/CD pipelinesBusiness Process Domain KnowledgeHands on experience with standard enterprise process domains is strongly preferred:Market to CashDemand to WarehouseSource to PayLeadership and CommunicationExperience leading a small team or acting as a technical lead or SMEStrong verbal and written communication skillsComfortable working with European stakeholders and distributed teamsProfessional, collaborative, and delivery focused approachLocation and AvailabilityRemote based in IndiaMust work European business hoursImmediate availability or start within one month is mandatory
