Job Description

Our client is a leader in mechatronic and automotive electrical systems with deep R&D and manufacturing capability across starters, alternators, small motors, controllers and EV solutions. The company operates multiple plants in India and sells globally through a network of sales and sourcing offices. The annual revenue is over INR 4,600 Crores and 3500 employees. The client is a group company of one of India's most respected multi‑generation Indian industrial conglomerates with a rich legacy of over 115 years and having group annual revenue of over INR 50,000 Crores.Job Purpose: Lead client's motor product line (design → development → validation → commercialization) and the engineering organization to deliver a broad portfolio of motors (BLDC, PMSM, SRM, Induction) for automotive, consumer goods and industrial applications. Drive product strategy, ensure on‑time/on‑cost launches, hit performance/cost/reliability targets and scale the team and capabilities for volume production and new program wins.Key responsibilities- Define and execute the motor technology & product roadmap across automotive, EV, consumer and industrial segments. - Lead hands-on design and systems engineering for BLDC, PMSM, SRM and Induction motors: electromagnetic architecture, thermal design, NVH mitigation, materials selection and manufacturability. - Oversee power‑electronics and controls integration (FOC, motor controllers, regenerative features) in collaboration with control systems teams. - Drive prototyping, validation, reliability testing and regulatory/compliance activities; own sign‑off criteria for series release. - Manage cross‑functional program delivery with PMO, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing and Sales to ensure launch schedules, cost targets and quality standards are met. - Implement design‑for‑manufacturing, cost‑down and yield improvement programs. - Build, mentor and lead an engineering organization (~30 engineers/functional staff); set KPIs, recruit senior/junior talent, run performance reviews and succession planning. - Establish and manage technology partnerships, outsource/vendor development and IP strategy; represent client in customer technical reviews. - Report program status, technical risks, resource needs and strategic initiative progress to senior leadership; champion continuous improvement and innovation.Preferred Profile- Education: BE in Electrical & Electronics (EEE) or Mechanical Engineering. - Experience: 20–30 years in motor design, development and product launches covering automotive, consumer goods and industrial applications. Proven seniority at AGM / DGM or equivalent leadership roles. - Technical strengths: Demonstrable track record of launching BLDC, PMSM, SRM and Induction motors; strong command of electromagnetic design tools, thermal analysis, NVH, materials, test plans and control integrations (including FOC). - Leadership: Experience managing and scaling engineering teams of ~30; strong program management, cross‑functional stakeholder management and vendor development experience. - Competencies: Strategic & commercial thinking, problem solving, cost/quality orientation, excellent communication and customer engagement skills. - Other: Experience with EV traction motors, motor controllers and production‑scale validation is a strong plus.
