We’re expanding our aftermarket portfolio and are looking for a hands-on drawing engineer who independently handles metal part development and press tooling for oil seals, bonded seals, and gaskets. From concept to stable mass production, while coordinating with toolmakers and press shops.Key Responsibilities- Metal Part Development - Development of seal shells, metal cases, carriers, washers, gasket cores - Thickness optimization considering strength, springback & press tonnage - Design for manufacturability (DFM) for press-formed parts - Control of ovality, concentricity, burrs, cracking issuesTooling Development- Conceptualization & approval of compound / progressive / draw dies - Calculation of:Tool clearancesDraw ratiosPress tonnage- Selection of tool steels (D2, SKD11, EN31, etc.) - Tool life improvement & regrinding standards - Trial monitoring (T0 / T1) and buy-offManufacturing Support- Press trials & production stabilization - Rejection analysis & corrective actions - Interaction with rubber bonding & moulding teams - Cost reduction through tooling & metal optimizationVendor Coordination- Technical discussion with toolmakers - Tool drawing approvals - Development cost control - PPAP / sample approval support (where applicable)Must-Have Skills- Strong understanding of press tools & sheet metal forming - Hands-on exposure to seal shells or gasket metal parts - Ability to read & review tool drawings - Practical knowledge of press shop behaviour - CAD exposure (AutoCAD / SolidWorks) – working level is enoughWhat This Role Is Not- Pure CAD designer - Production-only engineer - Fresh graduate tooling designerWhy This Role- Real technical authority, not paperwork - Direct impact on how our proudcts are designed and released - Plant-based, execution-driven environment - Clear growth path to Technical Head
