This role sits at the intersection of corporate reputation, product storytelling, and earned media impact.As PR Assistant Manager, you will help shape and execute integrated PR strategies that span corporate, product, and leadership narratives, drive consistent visibility across regional and national markets, and build credibility across mainline, business/financial, startup, auto, and technology media.This is a hands-on role suited for someone who can think strategically, execute independently, and thrive in a fast-moving, startup environment.Key Responsibilities- Support the development and execution of integrated PR strategies aligned with Oben Electric’s business objectives, product roadmap, and growth priorities. - Drive end-to-end PR storytelling across corporate, product, and brand narratives, ensuring consistent and high-quality coverage across national and regional markets. - Manage media engagement across mainline, business/financial, startup, auto, and technology publications, building sustained visibility and credibility. - Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and editors across national and regional media landscapes. - Draft and review press releases, media pitches, spokesperson quotes, briefing documents, and backgrounders with strong news hooks and strategic clarity. - Support and execute press conferences, product launches, media briefings, leadership interviews, and on-ground media activations. - Proactively identify newsworthy opportunities, emerging trends, and timely angles to keep the brand relevant and visible. - Monitor media coverage and brand sentiment; support reputation management and crisis communication efforts when required. - Work closely with internal stakeholders across marketing, product, leadership, and external PR agencies to ensure consistent messaging and alignment. - Track PR performance through media monitoring, coverage analysis, and impact reports highlighting reach, quality, and strategic outcomes. - Support leadership positioning through thought leadership opportunities, speaking engagements, and interview placements. - Be open to travel for launches, media interactions, and industry events as required.Qualifications & Experience- 4–6 years of experience in public relations, preferably with a PR agency handling automotive, EV, consumer technology, or startup brands. - Demonstrated experience managing both corporate and product PR mandates. - Proven ability to secure coverage across national and regional media, including business, financial, startup, and mainline publications. - Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics into compelling narratives. - Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment with multiple priorities. - Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines. - Clear understanding of earned media, reputation management, and integrated communications. - MBA/ Postgraduate Degree in Communication/PR/MarketingWhat Will Set You Apart- Prior experience working with startups or high-growth companies. - Exposure to the EV, mobility, or automotive ecosystem. - Existing relationships with journalists across auto, business, or startup media. - Ability to bring proactive, creative, and PR-able ideas beyond routine press releases.
