Since 1994, Treadwell has been applying excellent engineering strategies and design tactics to extend time—and cost-efficient solutions to our clients worldwide.THE ROLEAs a Drafting Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all drafting activities related to the design and construction of FRP and steel structures. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of 2D and 3D drawings by reviewing detailed fabrication drawings, checking 3D models, and leading a team of drafters. You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project drafting requirements are met and aligned with design standards and construction needs. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with CAD software such as Advanced Steel, AutoCAD 3D, or Revit, along with a solid background in steel structure drafting and coordination.MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESLead and coordinate drafting activities across projects, ensuring alignment with project scope, timelines, and specifications. • Act as the primary point of contact between the drafting team, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders. • Manage and review detailed fabrication drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and isometric views, to support fabrication and construction. • Review and check 3D models and detailed drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with design intent. • Scrutinise technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and applicable codes. • Verify the accuracy and completeness of dimensions, tolerances, symbols, annotations, and material specifications. • Ensure steel and FRP component connections are correctly detailed and coordinated in accordance with relevant standards and codes. • Perform quality control checks on all drawings and models before submission or release for fabrication. • Lead, mentor, and support a team of drafters, ensuring consistent quality, best practices, and adherence to project schedules. • Coordinate and resolve drafting and detailing issues in collaboration with engineers, architects, and other disciplines. • Maintain accurate documentation of drawing revisions, design changes, and technical communications. • Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations. • Stay up to date with advancements in CAD software, steel detailing practices, and industry trends to continuously improve efficiency and quality.SKILLS & EXPERIENCE• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in CAD drafting/design using Advanced Steel, AutoCAD 3D, or Revit • Proven experience producing and reviewing 2D and 3D drawings for steel or structural projects • Strong understanding of drafting principles, detailing standards, and quality control processes • Experience working with FRP composite products or similar materials is highly desirable • Prior experience leading or coordinating a drafting team is preferred • Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and time-management skills • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Drafting, or a related fieldCAREER GROWTH:• Depending on demand as well as individual and Company performance, this position may evolve, or the incumbent may gain the required knowledge to transition to other, more senior positions. • Depending on demand and individual and Company performance, all employees can rise through the ranks and be trained and exposed to other departments and operational duties.Why Join Treadwell Group?Treadwell Group provides a dynamic and innovative workplace with a strong commitment to sustainability.
