Purpose The SDET Manager will drive software testing against requirement specifications, use cases and user stories, as new software features are developed. Will own the development of test scripts from use cases, user stories and other sources. Work alongside other team members in undertaking testing both during development sprints and in the lead up to product releases Interacting with business analysts/product owners and other customer representatives, to assess if acceptance criteria have been met. Collaborating with development team members to set up and run automated tests, write, and maintain automated test scripts in specified tools. Supports external test partners in carrying out specialist testing activities, such as load/performance testing. Ensuring that testing is conducted on multiple supported browsers and devices. Mentor R&D team in QA and SDLC processes, support team member personal development goals With support : Expected to perform activity with support from a senior role or supervisor Autonomous : Expected to perform activity with minimal support needed As mentor : Expected to perform activity to a degree where the individual could act as mentor to others N/A: Not applicable Qualification In order to perform this role, individuals must have the following qualifications, competencies and personal qualities: SDET Manager Role Senior Manager Ideally a Computer Science or Engineering degree with substantial software development content Experience writing code with Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, or C# 3+ Years of Automation Test/SDET experience Over 6 years of proven Automation Test/SDET experience with leadership abilities and test strategy experience Ability work closely with Developers and Product Owners to ensure features/bug fixes are 'shippable' by sprint end International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Test Manager Advanced Level Certification Team Leadership experience within a testing team Understanding of web technologies (such as .NET, HTML etc.) Experience of manually testing and snagging websites/web-software Contribute to Sprint Planning, Sprint Refinement sessions, Sprint review/Retrospectives and Daily Stand-up meetings
