This includes preparation, handling of explosives, drilling assistance, and post-blast inspections Job Description Blasting Quality and Productivity1. Achieve target fragmentation (avoid big boulders) and muck pile profile as per project requirements.2. Coordinate with drilling teams to ensure proper burden, spacing, and depth.3. Minimize overbreaks, fly rock, and airblast through proper timing and execution. 4. Monitor and report on blast performance and contribute to continuous improvement.Explosive Handling and Inventory Management1. Ensure proper storage and transport of explosives as per norms.2. Maintain daily explosive inventory and report discrepancies.3. Follow FIFO (First-In-First-Out) for explosive usage. 4. Assist in monthly stock reconciliation and audits.Equipment and Tool Maintenance1. Ensure all blasting tools (exploders, leads, testing units) are functional and calibrated.2. Conduct pre-use checks and report defects for repair or replacement.3. Maintain cleanliness and functionality of explosive magazines. 4. Use and maintain PPE as per blasting standards.Safe and Efficient Blasting Operations1. Ensure all blasting operations are performed in accordance with statutory and company safety guidelines.2. Adhere to approved blast designs.3. Conduct safety inspections of blast areas before and after execution.4. Handle, load, and initiate explosives safely as per SOPs. 5. Maintain minimum misfire incidents and report any anomalies immediately.Coordination and Communication1. Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and drillers.2. Ensure siren systems are in place pre-blast.3. Inform all site personnel of blast schedules and safety precautions. 4. Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.SAP Reporting & Data Management1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of blasting operations, explosive usage, and safety incidents in SAP.2. Record and monitor production, drilling, and HEMM utilization data in SAP to track daily, weekly, and monthly performance.3. Generate reports and dashboards from SAP to support operational planning, resource allocation, and management decision-making.4. Ensure data accuracy, timely entry, and compliance with reporting standards for audits and regulatory requirements. 5. Coordinate with relevant teams to capture all related activities and KPIs in SAP, enabling performance analysis and continuous improvement.
