Senior Video Editor Role Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Senior Video Editor with 5-10 years of experience to join our global EdTech team. This role is at the intersection of technical precision and creative storytelling. You will be responsible for crafting high-impact educational videos that are not only visually engaging but also pedagogically sound. The ideal candidate is a master of rhythm and pacing, has a keen eye for modern animation trends, and is an early adopter of AI tools to streamline production. Given our global reach, professional-level proficiency in Portuguese is a non-negotiable requirement. Key Responsibilities - Narrative Editing: Assemble raw footage into high-quality educational content, marketing assets, and masterclasses, ensuring a logical flow that enhances learning retention. - Visual Storytelling: Incorporate motion graphics, typography, and b-roll to simplify complex academic concepts. - Portuguese Localization: Edit and QC content specifically for the Portuguese-speaking market. This includes syncing audio, managing Portuguese subtitles, and ensuring visual text is culturally and linguistically accurate. - AI Integration: Leverage AI-powered tools for tasks such as automated transcription, noise reduction, color matching, and generative output to increase department efficiency. - Trend Alignment: Keep our content fresh by implementing the latest editing styles seen across social media, YouTube, and digital learning platforms. - Audio Post-Production: Basic sound edit and mastering to ensure crystal-clear instructional audio. Technical Skills & Qualifications - Experience: 5-10 years in professional video editing (EdTech or Media background preferred). - Software Mastery: Expert level in Adobe Premiere Pro or any other software. Proficiency in After Effects for motion overlays - Linguistic Skill: Professional fluency in Portuguese. You should be comfortable editing scripts and audio in Portuguese without needing a translator for basic context. - AI Toolkit: Practical experience with tools like Canva, Descript, Runway, ElevenLabs, or Adobe Sensei features. - Asset Management: Experience managing large-scale projects with complex folder structures and version control. Candidate Requirements (Portfolio) Your portfolio must demonstrate: - Long-form & Short-form: Ability to edit 20-minute lectures and 30-second trailers. - Portuguese Projects: Samples of work where you managed the Portuguese audio/visual track. - Graphic Integration: Clean, modern use of text and motion elements. - AI Workflow: (Optional but preferred) A brief explanation or example of how you used AI to solve a specific editing challenge.
