Ltd., Darbhamga, Bihar, PIN-846003Website:- Contact Number:- +91 9631739835Employment Type: Consultant / Part-time / Full-time (as per requirement)Reports To: Medical Director / Clinic HeadJob SummaryWe are seeking a qualified and experienced Diabetologist (OPD Consultant) to provide high-quality outpatient care to patients with diabetes mellitus and related metabolic disorders. The ideal candidate will be responsible for clinical evaluation, diagnosis, individualized management, follow-ups, patient education, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to optimise diabetes care outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care & Patient Management- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessment of patients presenting with diabetes (Type 1, Type 2, gestational diabetes, pre-diabetes). - Diagnose and manage acute and chronic diabetic conditions, complications, and comorbidities. - Prescribe and adjust medications, including oral hypoglycemics and insulin therapy, based on individual patient needs. - Interpret diagnostic tests such as fasting blood glucose, HbA1c, lipid profile, renal function, and other relevant investigations. - Monitor patients regularly to assess progress, medication effectiveness, and complications.Patient Education & Support- Educate patients and caregivers about self-management, blood glucose monitoring, diet, exercise, and lifestyle modifications. - Provide counseling on prevention and management of diabetes-related complications (e.g., neuropathy, nephropathy, retinopathy, cardiovascular risk).Documentation & Follow-up- Maintain accurate and updated patient records, treatment plans, and follow-up notes. - Schedule and manage follow-up consultations and reminders for routine screening and tests.Multidisciplinary Collaboration- Work collaboratively with dietitians, diabetes educators, lab staff, and other specialists for comprehensive patient care. - Refer patients to appropriate specialists when advanced care or complications demand.Professional Development- Stay updated with latest clinical guidelines, research, and evolving practices in diabetes care.Qualifications- Medical Degree: MBBS with MD (Internal Medicine) or equivalent. - Specialization: DM (Endocrinology & Diabetology) or Diploma/Fellowship in Diabetology or equivalent certification is highly desirable. - License: Valid registration with National Medical Commission (NMC) / State Medical Council with prescribing rights. - Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience in diabetes management; significant OPD experience preferred.Skills & Competencies- Strong clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills. - Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities. - Compassionate, patient-centric approach with cultural sensitivity. - Ability to work independently and in a team with other healthcare professionals. - Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems (desirable).Work Environment- OPD clinical setting at Bindu Diagnostics, interacting directly with patients and healthcare team. - Regular afternoon or fixed consultation hours as agreed in contract.
