Senior Apparel Designer – Luxury WearSummaryWe are looking for a Senior Apparel Designer to contribute to the design and development of Ekaya’s luxury apparel collections. This role involves end-to-end responsibility, from concept development to sampling, with a strong emphasis on handloom textiles, weaving knowledge, and craft-led design. The ideal candidate will bring a refined design sensibility, strong execution skills, and a deep understanding of luxury apparel rooted in Indian textiles.Key ResponsibilitiesHandle the end-to-end apparel design process from conceptualization, design development, fabric selection, and detailing to samplingResearch global and Indian fashion trends, silhouettes, materials, and weaving techniquesDevelop design ranges through sketches, technical drawings, and detailed design developmentSelect appropriate fabrics, weaves, colours, trims, and fits aligned with Ekaya’s luxury aestheticApply weaving and textile knowledge to create apparel that highlights handloom craftsmanshipCoordinate with textile, weaving, and production teams to ensure accurate translation of designsOversee sampling, fittings, and prototype development; ensure design intent and quality standardsReview samples and fittings, provide constructive feedback, and finalize designsAnalyze market trends, customer feedback, and sales insights to refine collectionsSupport and guide junior designers when requiredCollaborate with merchandising, sourcing, production, and retail teamsStay updated on luxury fashion, handloom, and craft trends while maintaining brand consistencyParticipate in internal and external collaborations aligned with brand visionRequirementsDegree in Apparel Design (Postgraduate preferred)6–10 years of experience in luxury apparelStrong understanding of weaving, handloom textiles, and fabric developmentProven experience managing the complete design lifecycle from concept to samplingExcellent garment construction, fit, and detailing knowledgeStrong design portfolio showcasing luxury apparel and textile-led designsProficiency in design software along with strong hand sketching skillsStrong sense of colour, silhouette, fabric, and craftsmanshipGood communication and collaboration skillsHigh attention to detail and passion for Indian textiles and luxury fashionAbility to adapt to changing trends while respecting traditional aestheticsOpen to creative collaborationsLocationDelhiHow to ApplyInterested candidates may share their resume and portfolio at:@About UsEkaya Banaras is a handloom, bespoke luxury brand with presence in New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad.
