The Tata Group operates in more than 100 countries across six continents, with the mission 'To improve the quality of life of the communities we serve globally, through long term stakeholder value creation based on leadership with Trust.Responsibilities:Design and develop passive components (R,L,C) capable of working in RF freq range 20GHz and above on foundry’s deep submicron process nodes like 55/ 28nm CMOS, SOI using industry standard EM tools like HFSS, Q3D, Momentum etcEstablish deep understanding of process stack and BEOL and deliver Inductors, Capacitors, Transformers, Transmission lines with start of art performance at 20GHz and aboveWork closely with Technology Development, Design Enablement team to establish spec for Q-factor, L, C, ESR, SRFDevelop accurate geometry and process stack in 3D-EM solver to deliver most accurate simulation resultsExecute isolation/cross-talk analysis and optimization to reduce block to block isolation and cross talkSimulate Transmission line and Via at RF frequency range of interest and derive equivalent circuit accurately modelling behaviorSeek avenues to automate geometry tuning and EM design/optimization workflowCollaborate closely with layout team, design enablement team to layout components on test chip. Provide guidance on best RF layout practicesCharacterize components in lab. Analyze data. Establish accurate equivalent circuit models. Debug performance degradation on Q, ESR,SRF, coupling etc. Work closely with modelling team to mitigate model to measurement discrepanciesEssential Attributes:Candidate should have deep understanding of 2D, 2.5D, 3D electromagnetic field simulation for variety of applications like transmission line, signal and power integrity, Inductance and capacitance extractionExpertise on industry standard EM modelling and simulation tools like HFSS, CST Studio, ADSStrong understanding of EM simulation results, TDR, S-Parameters, Smit Chart, Impedance matching, transmission line theory, conductive and dielectric losses, propagation delayUnderstanding of material properties like Permittivity, Permeability, conductivity, mobility, skin depthCandidate must be able to effectively develop and deliver complex solution Excellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated problem solving skills illustrating the ability to create engineering solutions to engineering challenges.
