We are looking to hire Managers for our Chemicals & Materials – Strategy and Transformation Practice to support high-impact consulting engagements. The role involves working closely with CXOs, promoters, and business heads of chemical and materials companies on growth strategy, portfolio and business transformation, operational excellence, and value creation initiatives. This is a client-facing leadership role requiring strong problem-solving skills, sector understanding, and the ability to independently drive workstreams while mentoring teams. Job Position Title: Manager_ Chemicals_Advisory_Gurgaon Key Responsibilities: As a Manager, you will be part of a team of professionals with extensive consulting and industry experience. Leveraging your expertise and experience, we anticipate that you will provide valuable insights and solutions to clients in the chemical domain. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: Strategy & Transformation Delivery Lead and deliver end-to-end strategy and transformation engagements across: Growth strategy & market entry Portfolio rationalization and diversification Specialty vs commodity shift strategies Techno economic feasibility Cost transformation and margin improvement Capacity expansion and investment prioritization Sales force effectiveness and channel optimization Translate strategic insights into actionable transformation roadmaps Develop business cases, financial models, and implementation plans 2 Chemicals & Materials Sector Focus Work across sub-segments such as: Specialty & Performance Chemicals Inorganic & Industrial Chemicals Petrochemicals & Polymers Fertilizers, Agrochemicals & Intermediates Paints, coatings and Construction Chemicals Building materials Advanced Materials & Sustainable/Bio-based materials Build deep client context on feedstocks, value chains, cost structures, regulatory dynamics, and global trade flows Client Engagement & Stakeholder Management Act as a day-to-day client lead for Manager-owned workstreams Engage with CXOs, functional heads, and plant leadership teams Present insights and recommendations through high-quality storylined decks Support Partners/Directors in client discussions and steering committees Team Leadership & Capability Building Manage and mentor Consultants and Senior Consultants Review analyses, guide problem structuring, and ensure delivery quality Contribute to practice capability building (templates, POVs, benchmarks) Business Development & Thought Leadership Support proposal development, scoping, and effort estimation Contribute to sector POVs, whitepapers, and market insights Identify opportunities for follow-on work within existing accounts Preferred skills and competencies: Technical & Analytical Strong strategy frameworks and structured problem-solving Financial modeling and investment analysis Market sizing, competitive benchmarking, and value chain analysis Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills (client-ready outputs expected) Behavioral & Leadership Client-ready communication and executive presence Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments Ownership mindset with high accountability Strong people management and coaching skills Years of experience required: 5–12 years of total experience, with: 4–8 years in management consulting, corporate strategy, or transformation roles Demonstrable experience in Chemicals, Materials, or Manufacturing sectors Prior experience in strategy consulting firms, Big 4, or in-house strategy roles is strongly preferred Education qualification: MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree from a reputed institute Engineering / Chemistry / Chemical Engineering background from top tier engineering institutes (IIT, ICT, NIT) will be preferred Location: Gurgaon
