Job Description

Purpose: The Manager – AFD (Mechanical Maintenance) is responsible for executing ongoing improvement projects, enhancing equipment reliability, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The role focuses on optimizing hydraulic and lubrication systems, reducing equipment downtime, improving spare part management, and driving infrastructure enhancements in alignment with production and quality objectives. Ongoing Project Execution and Improvement Plan:Improve the health and performance of hydraulic systems and existing lubrication oil properties. Install and commission rolling oil filtration add-on systems in coordination with Production and Quality teams. Execute value-added services aligned with plant infrastructure enhancement and operational betterment. Select existing item codes, initiate requests for new item codes as per product specifications and manage PR to PO conversion. Continuous Improvement in Machine Condition: Plan and review monthly preventive maintenance schedules in consultation with department heads. Manage normal and critical spares using Excel and SAP tools as part of the digital initiative. Continuously develop and streamline processes for material storage, issuance, and receipt.Maintenance Cost Reduction & Equipment Reliability: Introduce and develop new vendors while maintaining product quality standards. Identify alternative domestic sources for spare parts to reduce dependency on OEMs. Facilitate local preparation of drawings and specifications to support cost-effective procurement. EHS & Compliance with Safety Regulations: Identify high-potential risks related to machine maintenance and implement mitigation strategies. Target zero reportable incidents and near-miss cases within the mechanical departmentEnsure strict adherence to company policies and cross-functional safety guidelines.Authority: Approve preventive maintenance schedules and spare part procurement plans.Recommend and implement safety and process improvements in coordination with the Plant Head. Authorize vendor development and local fabrication initiatives. Represent Mechanical Maintenance in cross-functional safety and operational forums. Accountability: Ensure execution of improvement projects and infrastructure enhancements. Maintain machine reliability and availability to meet production targets. Uphold safety and environmental standards across all mechanical operations. Optimize maintenance costs through strategic vendor engagement and local sourcing. Drive continuous improvement and report key metrics to the Plant Head for strategic review. Qualification: BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Experience:Minimum 12 years’ experience.
