Job Description

Purpose: The Section Incharge - AFD Production is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire section’s operations within the AFD division, covering multiple shifts and production units such as mills, separators, and furnaces. This role ensures sustained productivity, adherence to quality and safety standards, effective manpower deployment, and resource optimization across the section. The position requires strong leadership, planning, and coordination skills to maintain seamless production flow, drive continuous improvement, and support organizational goals.Section Management & Production Oversight:Supervise and coordinate all shifts within the section to achieve production targets. Monitor mill, separator, and furnace operations across shifts for efficiency and compliance. Review consolidated section performance reports and analyze trends for improvement. Manpower & Resource Coordination: Plan manpower deployment across shifts and units to ensure balanced workload.Ensure availability and proper utilization of raw materials, consumables, and equipment. Liaise with maintenance and support teams to minimize downtime and disruptions. Quality Assurance: Establish and monitor section-wide quality control measures. Address recurring quality deviations and implement corrective/preventive actions. Support product audits and ensure compliance with specifications. Safety & Housekeeping: Enforce safety protocols and ensure adherence to statutory and company standards. Promote a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment across all production areas.Conduct regular safety and housekeeping audits and implement corrective actions. Foster a culture of safety awareness and cleanliness among team members. Documentation & Communication: Maintain consolidated records of section activities, production data, and incidents. Communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams. Provide operational insights and data during audits, reviews, and management meetings.Authority:Recommend section-level process improvements and operational enhancements.Suggest manpower planning, training, and skill development needs. Raise concerns regarding equipment performance, safety violations, or quality deviations to the Plant Head. Accountability: Ensure timely and efficient execution of section production plans. Maintain high standards of product quality and workplace safety across all shifts. Optimize resource utilization and minimize downtime across the section. Drive continuous improvement in production efficiency and team performance. Qualification: Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical or Metallurgy Engineering. Experience: Minimum 20-25 years of experience in relevant field.
