SPANISH REVERSIONING EDITORSummary DescriptionThis role is responsible for supporting all aspects of the reversioning process, which includes translation and localisation of films, textbooks and online platforms, with a particular focus on materials translated into Spanish.Essential Job FunctionsTranslate educational materials from English into Spanish with a high degree of accuracy, consistency, and consideration of contextual factors.Review materials that have been translated from English to Spanish by other translators or machine translation.Collaborate with other Spanish linguists to agree on style points, conventions and translations of key terms.Check and verify matched segments using translation software, and identify segments that require translation.QC PDF print files efficiently and accurately, with reference to existing style guides.Other tasks related to revisioning such as captioning videos, creating transcripts, working in CMS to ensure all content is neatly and consistently formatted and properly structuredPerform other responsibilities within the scope of expertiseQualificationsQualification in English > Spanish translation (e.g. degree, membership of professional organisation), OR 1 year relevant experience (e.g. translation agency)Technical SkillsTechnical literacy and a high level of proficiency and comfort with spreadsheets, using a CMS and/or content/data handling in generalExperience with translation software e.g., MemsourceExperience with design software such as Adobe InDesign and Illustrator (not essential but beneficial)CompetenciesNative Spanish speaker, with full professional-level fluency in EnglishSolid understanding of Latin American SpanishExperience of proofreading or editing in a professional contextAbility to collaborate effectivelyMeticulous attention to detailExcellent organisational and communication skillsAbility to grasp complex systems quicklyFlexibility to pivot on projects according to departmental requirementsAbility to manage workload without direct supervision
