You will own the stability and speed of our production system. You will make the platform faster, cheaper, and more reliable—then prove it with numbers.What you will ownPostgreSQL performance & reliability: query plans, indexes, partitioning, connection pooling, replication, backups, slow query triage; functions/triggers (we use the fx gem heavily)Containers: Docker/BuildKit, multi-stage builds, base images, smaller images, faster buildsCI/CD: build caching, test parallelization (turbo_tests), deployment workflowsPaaS operations (Render or similar): service configs, autoscaling, environment management, zero-downtime deploysObservability: error tracking, performance monitoring, logs, alertingBackground jobs: queue health, throughput, failure handling, worker scalingSecurity: secrets, dependency updates, vulnerability scanningYou are a fit ifYou can take a slow Postgres-backed endpoint and make it fast (and keep it fast)You are comfortable debugging production incidents under pressureYou think in reliability, telemetry, and cost-per-transactionYou prefer operational impact over UI workWhat you will getWork from anywhere, on your rhythm — Day-to-day is async and flexible.
