The team you will be a part of: The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation. This role in summary: Verification & Validation traceable documentation to support the global architecture roadmap, realized by predictable product performance and codes, regulatory and internal policy compliance at launch and throughout the product life cycle to delight consumers and satisfy the needs of the business. Your responsibilities will include: Create verification plans to verify requirements (Key change, different of ‘which tests we must pass to put this project in production’) ➔ Execute V&V strategy & verification roadmap Drive MBSE, SBD and other verification methods to reduce physical testing. Leverage supplier labs for component verification testing. Act as a TRS and FPS key enabler. Apply key tools and models to allow for ‘TRS Ready’ strategy during the scoping activities of G&I projects. Assess V&V methodology to ensure robustness to requirements given allowed design variation and expected use case variation. Use critical thought / physics to help determine alternate design concepts to improve product or reduce risks. ➔ Execute core V&V activities in Planning and Advanced Development Projects: Support continuous improvement of consumer satisfaction through internal validation correlations as identified by Quality Function Deployment (QFD) assessments. Utilize FMEA’s to ID functional requirements, failure modes and detection methods. Partner with the V&V Strategist to identify target ranges and V&V methods as projects transition from ADP into the PD, CV phase.Identify gaps within existing test methods and identify appropriate test methods including SBD to satisfy new requirements ➔ Plan and drive core V&V activities throughout execution of Production Development Projects and over the manufacturing lifetime of the product. Align validation and verification plan with system integrator and subsystem teams per project timeline and proactively manage execution.Provide progress status of the V&V plan at all WPD integration events.Ensure accuracy and clarity of lab requests / reports.Identify product configurations and quantities of units needed to support build planning and physical testing.Witness tests when appropriate.Coach and mentor technicians. Drive V&V Maturity, Safety Maturity and DV-GPA discipline and rigor.Design Verification (DV GPA) by M6.Support design reviews with active participation.Partner with system integrators to provide risk assessments, to find root causes of issues and propose alternative solutions in a proactive manner. Provide traceable and complete approval documentation with appropriate context for DV and PV phases.Ensure clearly defined requirements are validated or verified.Disposition all non compliant test results and identify any exceptions that represent risks to product leadership, manufacturing other relevant partners.Adhere to Whirlpool product approval process and ensure global consistency.Leverage safety audits to identify, evaluate and close potential safety hazards. Support Manufacturing Quality Leads to ensure process conformance and compliance. Support requests for post-launch V&V needs as required. Minimum requirements: ➔ Education: BE/B.Tech 5+ years Engineering & Technical product development experience. Diversity of experience preferred.Proven tactical execution. Requirement management. Verification and Validation. Knowledge in given category preferred. Lab operations ➔ Technical GPO core (APQP, DFS, sys engr., proj. mgmt, WPD) competencies per WeLearn role guidelines. Opex Black Belt Certified. QFD, FMEA, Reliability and product safety tools. ➔ Leadership Ability to work effectively with cross functional partners.
