Profile OverviewJob Title - Robotics Design Engineer – Mechanical (Robotic Arm)Location: Jigani, BangaloreJob DescriptionWe are looking for a Robotics Design Engineer – Mechanical with hands-on experience in robotic arm / manipulator design. The role focuses on mechanical design of multi-DOF robotic arms, including joints, transmission systems, and structural optimization, working closely with controls, electronics, and software teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign 3–6 DOF robotic arm architectures, joints, and link structuresCreate 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawingsDesign and integrate harmonic / planetary gearboxes, belt or chain drivesSelect and integrate servo / BLDC motors, encoders, and brakesPerform torque-speed calculations, gear ratio selection, and backlash controlConduct mechanical calculations for stress, fatigue, deflection, and payloadSupport prototyping, assembly, testing, and design iterationEnsure DFM / DFA compliance and vendor coordinationCollaborate with controls, electronics, and software teamsMaintain CAD data, drawings, BOMs, and documentationRequired QualificationsB. E / B. Tech in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering2–5 years of experience in robotic arm or precision electromechanical designProficiency in SolidWorks or Autodesk InventorStrong knowledge of gearboxes, bearings, shafts, motors, and encodersExperience with prototyping and precision assemblies6-day format designed to accelerate learning and responsibility.Good to HaveExperience with industrial robots, cobots, or manipulatorsExposure to harmonic drives and precision gear systemsFamiliarity with FEA tools (ANSYS)Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and basic robotics kinematicsExperience with sealed or IP-rated joint designs
