Job Description

OverviewWe are a U.S.-based company seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented, and strategic Director of FP&A to serve as the head of finance and lead all day-to-day and strategic financial operations. This individual will be based in India and will take over responsibilities currently handled by the VP of Finance. The ideal candidate will own the entire finance function—from transaction-level accounting to forward-looking business modeling. They will help improve our financial reporting, forecasting, and cash management practices to support the company’s growth objectives in a dynamic small-business environment.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning & Analysis·      Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual budget statements and projections.·      Analyze financial data and create reports to review variances by line item against prior periods, prior year, and budget.·      Maintain and improve forecasting models and dashboards to support executive decision-making.·      Create and present ad hoc financial reports and analysis to the CEO and senior team as needed.·      Develop and track KPIs to monitor financial health and operational efficiency.Accounting & Bookkeeping Oversight·      Ensure accurate and timely data entry into QuickBooks Online.·      Oversee monthly close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations.·      Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial transaction reporting.·      Maintain ledger integrity and classify expenses accurately.Payroll & Employee Cost Management·      Manage bi-weekly payroll through ADP, ensuring accurate employee data and compliance with tax and labor laws.·      Track bonus calculations, owner distributions, and payroll allocations.·      Maintain payroll registers and assist with reporting for audits and reviews.Banking, Treasury & Cash Management·      Serve as the primary contact with U.S.-based banks and ensure compliance with all requirements.·      Monitor and manage daily cash flow using all available sources (e.g., LOC, retailer funding).·      Perform treasury functions including bank reconciliations and liquidity forecasting.·      Support compliance and internal controls over cash handling.Accounts Payable / Receivable & Expense Monitoring·      Monitor A/R aging and follow up to ensure timely payments from customers.·      Oversee A/P and ensure vendors are paid in accordance with terms.·      Track and manage T&E expenses through Ramp or similar platforms.·      Review credit card statements and receipts for accuracy and policy compliance.Business Intelligence & Reporting·      Run and analyze POS data to generate scorecards for key retail partners.·      Develop financial and operational dashboards for internal reporting.·      Create reports to support retailer negotiations and performance reviews.Strategic Leadership & Compliance·      Act as head of finance, providing strategic input on growth and cost-containment.·      Ensure full compliance with U.S. GAAP and all financial regulations.·      Identify and implement process improvements across all finance functions.·      Support auditors, tax consultants, and external partners with documentation and schedules.·      Assist in preparing board reports, investor materials, and executive summaries.Qualifications·      Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA/CMA preferred).·      8–10 years of progressive finance experience with 3+ years in a leadership role.·      Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online, ADP, and Excel/Google Sheets (advanced modeling).·      Experience with financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and compliance.·      Familiarity with working for U.S.-based companies and knowledge of U.S. GAAP.·      Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.·      Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote, and dynamic environment.·      Based in India with willingness to overlap U.S. Central working hours daily.Preferred Traits·      Experience supporting e-commerce or retail-related businesses.·      Familiarity with systems like , Brex, Ramp, POS portals, or similar.·      Demonstrated ability to improve processes and automate manual workflows.·      Comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving strategic priorities.Compensation & Benefits·      Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.·      Performance-based bonus potential.·      Paid time off and recognized company holidays (including U.S. holidays).·      Remote work flexibility with daily structured communication expectations.To ApplyPlease submit your resume, a brief cover letter describing your qualifications, and any sample reports or dashboards (if available) that showcase your financial analysis capabilities.
