This role focuses on ensuring consistent, accurate and compliant accounting practices across the Record to Report (RTR) landscape, leading transformation initiatives, providing strategic accounting guidance, and shaping the global accounting approach for complex commercial and operational activities.What you will doProvide functional leadership for IFRS16 governance processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, accrual governance and policy adherence across Vodafone markets.Lead strategic and operational projects related to IFRS16 accounting, ensuring accurate assessment of contracts, processes, data and financial impacts.Partner with Group Financial Reporting and Accounting Advisory teams to align accounting policies, judgements and applications across local markets.Support Chief Accountants to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting under IFRS and local GAAP, including income statements, balance sheet reviews and disclosures.Translate commercial and transformation requirements into compliant accounting solutions, from early ideation to implementation.Collaborate with the RTR solutions team to prioritise and deliver key accounting initiatives impacting the Group.Provide accounting expertise to transformation programmes across Commercial Shared Operations.Monitor IFRS16 performance, identify improvement opportunities and ensure robust controls are maintained across the end-to-end process.Contribute to the strategic objectives of the Accounting CoE and support knowledge development and capability growth within the team.Who you areDemonstrated knowledge of IFRS16, REFX, lease accounting and application of accounting principles to commercial transactions.Strong leadership skills with experience guiding diverse project teams in complex and dynamic environments.Deep technical accounting expertise with the ability to articulate judgements clearly and transparently.Skilled communicator and effective business partner, able to influence cross‑functional teams and senior stakeholders.Resilient, self‑driven, adaptable and committed to delivering high‑quality outcomes.Collaborative mindset with an inclusive approach, embracing diverse perspectives to reach better solutions.Analytical, innovative and comfortable driving process improvements.Must-have QualificationsChartered Accountant (or equivalent).Minimum 7 years of IFRS16 technical experience.Proven experience delivering major finance transformation projects.Strong IT and data analytics competence.Telecom industry knowledge and commercial acumen.Not a Perfect Fit?Concerned you may not meet every requirement?
