Job Title: Assistant Manager – Canadian Individual Tax (T1 & Quebec)Experience: 6+ YearsLocation: [Hyderabad / Gurgaon]Department: Canada TaxRole OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager with strong expertise in Canadian Individual Tax (T1) and Quebec provincial returns. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in handling complex resident, non-resident, and cross-border tax scenarios, along with strong knowledge of federal and Quebec tax credits, compliance requirements, and review processes.This role involves managing engagements, reviewing returns, mentoring team members, and ensuring high-quality, timely deliverables in compliance with CRA and Revenue Québec regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review Canadian Individual Tax Returns (T1) including Resident, Non-Resident, and Part-Year filings.Manage and review Quebec TP-1 returns and related provincial schedules in accordance with Revenue Québec guidelines.Apply and review federal and provincial tax credits and deductions, including tuition, medical, RRSP, childcare, moving expenses, foreign tax credits, and Quebec refundable/non-refundable credits.Handle cross-border individual tax matters, including foreign income reporting and treaty considerations (where applicable).Prepare and review T1 Adjustments (T1-ADJ) and respond to CRA and Revenue Québec notices, reassessments, and review letters.Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and documentation protocols.Monitor WIP, budgets, and billing coordination, ensuring projects are delivered within timelines and allocated hours.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members; conduct return reviews and feedback sessions.Coordinate with onshore teams/clients for information requests, clarifications, and timely resolution of queries.Support process improvements and training initiatives within the tax team.Why AKM?AKM Global is a premier professional services firm, with specialization in tax, consulting and outsourcing services.
