Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AI Architect to design, lead, and deliver an AI‑driven 2D/3D tolerance stack‑up analysis platform for aerospace and complex mechanical systems.The role focuses on engineering‑grade accuracy, agentic AI architectures, and fully on‑premise deployments with no public cloud dependency.The architect will own the end‑to‑end AI and system architecture for stack‑up analysis, integrating CAD systems, engineering drawings, mathematical models, and GenAI‑based agents, while ensuring scalability for future engineering use cases.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitecture & Solution DesignDefine and own the overall AI and system architecture for stack‑up analysis using an agentic, microservices‑based platformDesign on‑premise, isolated deployments compliant with enterprise IT, security, and data‑privacy policiesCreate a scalable and future‑ready architecture that can onboard additional engineering agents without core redesignStack‑Up Analysis AI CapabilitiesArchitect AI solutions for 2D and 3D tolerance stack‑up analysis, including:Axial and radial clearance calculationsWorst‑case and RSS methodsMulti‑joint and multi‑part tolerance aggregationEnable support for CATIA V6, Autodesk CAD, and PDF engineering drawingsDesign mechanisms to:Handle varied dimensioning schemesFlag low‑confidence resultsSuggest manufacturability‑driven tolerance improvementsAgentic & Human‑in‑the‑Loop DesignDefine and orchestrate AI agents such as:Ingestion, extraction, context, and resultant calculation agentsStack‑up analysis agents for 2D and 3D assembliesImplement human‑in‑the‑loop workflows allowing engineers to review, correct, and approve intermediate resultsDesign traceability, audit trails, and explainability into AI decisionsAI/ML & GenAI ArchitectureSelect and design deployment of SLMs/LLMs suitable for on‑prem servers (e.g., Llama, Mistral, Qwen, Phi‑3)Architect:Embeddings and vector search (FAISS / OpenSearch)Prompt and system‑prompt strategiesOptional fine‑tuning workflows where applicableEnsure deterministic, engineering‑safe behavior for critical calculationsTechnology & Integration LeadershipDefine integration patterns with:CAD/PLM systems (CATIA, Autodesk, PLM tools)ERP/QIS systems (for future QN integrations)Guide backend, API, and frontend teams using:FastAPI / RESTReactJSKubernetes / Airflow orchestrationPostgreSQL / MongoDB storageNon‑Functional OwnershipOwn performance, scalability, and reliability targets for large assemblies and datasetsWork with IT teams on GPU/CPU sizing and infrastructure planning for on‑prem AI workloadsEnsure production readiness, including security, OAuth2‑based access control, and deployment packagingRequired Skills & ExperienceCore Expertise12+ years in AI/ML or advanced engineering software architectureStrong hands‑on experience with mechanical tolerance analysis / stack‑up analysis in aerospace or complex manufacturing domainsProven experience delivering on‑premise AI platforms in regulated or IP‑sensitive environmentsAI & DataDeep understanding of:GenAI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI)Vector databases and embeddingsAI agent orchestration patternsAbility to combine deterministic mathematical models with probabilistic AI outputsEngineering SystemsStrong exposure to:CATIA, Autodesk CAD, PLM systemsReading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&TExperience integrating AI systems with engineering workflows and SMEsSoftware & PlatformStrong backend and system‑design skills (Python, C++, NodeJS)Experience with microservices, APIs, Kubernetes, and enterprise‑grade web applicationsNice to HaveAerospace or engine system experienceExperience with quality systems or downstream manufacturing decision supportPrior work on AI explainability or validation for safety‑critical systems
