Location: Hyderabad (Full-time, In-office)Reports to: CEO / Co-FounderSalary range: INR 40-45 LPA + generous ESOPsAbout the role: Our client is a Hyderabad-based tech startup. We are looking for a VP of Technology to bridge the gap between our hardware capabilities and software scalability.We need a leader who can architect from scratch, write production-level code when required, and translate technical complexity into revenue. You will be responsible for building mass-deployable solutions using the MERN stack and BLE/MTT communication protocols, with some responsibilities for Arduino or similar platform-based prototypes.Key Responsibilities:1. Architecture & Engineering (The “Build”)Architect and own the end-to-end technology roadmap, ensuring scalability, security, and robustnessMake critical decisions on the MERN stack implementation (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) for the dashboard and user-facing applicationsLead the transition from hardware prototypes (Arduino) to a seamless integrated system involving BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and MTT protocolsDesign secure cloud architectures to handle real-time data ingestion from hardware devices2. Monetization & Product Strategy (The “Sell”)Collaborate with the founding team to identify technical routes for monetizationEvaluate licensing models, API monetization, and data-as-a-service opportunities stemming from our hardware ecosystemTranslate technical features into business value propositions for investors and enterprise clients3. Team Building & CultureBuild and mentor a high-performing engineering team in HyderabadInstil a culture of ownership, code quality, and rapid experimentationCurrently working directly with the codebase; expected to gradually transition to managing leads while staying deeply involved in technical reviews4. Product & Project ManagementOwn the SDLC from requirement gathering to deploymentImplement agile methodologies suitable for a hardware-software hybrid environmentManage vendor and partner relationships for hardware components if requiredSkills and Qualifications: MERN Stack Expert: Deep expertise in MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js. You must have built and scaled products on this stackIoT & Hardware Integration: Strong experience integrating software with Arduino based hardware. Must understand the constraints of embedded systemsProtocols: Hands-on experience with BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and MTT (MQTT/CoAP - interpreted as Machine-to-Machine Telemetry Transport) protocolsCloud & Security: Proven experience deploying secure, robust applications on cloud platforms (AWS IoT Core/Azure IoT/Google Cloud).
