Manager - Public Policy (Policy Partnerships, Research, Trade Relations)Department: Public Policy and Government AffairsLocation: BangaloreEmployment Type: Full-timeAbout the RoleWe are looking for an experienced and dynamic Manager - Public Policy to assist in our engagement with policy stakeholders and shape the regulatory landscape for the quick commerce ecosystem in India. This role will focus on identifying and assisting in strategic policy partnerships, executing research-driven advocacy, and managing trade and compliance dynamics critical to our business operations and expansion.You’ll assist the leaders on public policy matters, working across teams to ensure our business is future-ready and aligned with the evolving policy environment.Key Responsibilities1. Policy Advocacy & StrategyMonitor and analyze policy developments at the central, state (especially South India), and local levels that impact the quick commerce and e-commerce sector.Ideate and develop proactive policy positions on issues such as last-mile delivery, gig economy and labor regulations, FSSAI aspects, digital commerce frameworks, data governance, and environmental compliance (e.g., packaging, EV policies).2. Partnerships & Stakeholder ManagementDevelop long-term relationships with policymakers, regulatory authorities, trade associations, and think tanks.Represent the company in government consultations, industry roundtables, and external stakeholder meetings.3. Research & Thought LeadershipIdeate and execute impactful policy research, white papers, and briefings to support advocacy efforts.Explore and collaborate with academic and policy research institutions to generate data-backed insights on key policy themes (e.g., urban logistics, sustainability, digital inclusion).4. Trade & Regulatory AffairsEngage with central ministries (e.g., DPIIT, MoCI, MoEFCC, MeitY) and state departments, especially in South India, to navigate policy matters affecting supply chains, imports, and cross-border logistics.Ensure business practices align with legal and compliance requirements, particularly with evolving norms around FDI in e-commerce and labor law changes.5. Internal CollaborationWork closely with leadership, legal, operations teams to align policy strategies with business objectives and growth plans.Provide policy insights to inform strategic decision-making and risk assessment.Required Qualifications4 - 6 years of experience in public policy, government affairs, regulatory strategy, or a related function, ideally within the digital economy or consumer services sector.Strong understanding of India’s regulatory landscape, including FDI policy, labor laws, trade policies, IT laws and digital commerce guidelines.Proven ability to work with senior government officials, regulators, and industry bodies.Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, Economics, or related field.Preferred QualificationsExperience in a tech-driven, consumer-facing company or quick commerce/e-commerce platform.Exposure to policy issues related to sustainability (e.g., EV, packaging waste, carbon compliance).Familiarity with gig economy labor issues and urban governance frameworks.Prior experience of working in the Government or a government affiliated body with a focus on technology policy and digital commerce related issues.
