Job Description

Manager – Manufacturing FinancePosition SummaryThe Manager – Manufacturing Finance is responsible for implementing and managing manufacturing cost systems, process costing, variance analysis, and financial controls across production operations. The role partners closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and leadership teams to improve cost visibility, optimize margins, strengthen financial governance, and support business decision-making in a CMO/CDMO environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManufacturing Costing & CoGS ManagementImplement and manage process costing methodologies across manufacturing units and suites.Track and analyze production volumes, yields, material consumption, and suite occupancy.Design and maintain suite-wise hourly and daily rates, including evaluation of idle time.Monitor Standard vs Actual Cost of Goods Sold (CoGS) and drive initiatives to reduce variances and cost gaps.Calculate and analyze over-absorption and under-absorption for manufacturing suites and units.CMO / CDMO Cost & Variance AnalysisPerform cost capturing and variance analysis for CMO/CDMO operations.Track material usage, yield losses, and cost drivers across products and customers.Evaluate alternate sourcing payback (e.g., media, resins, consumables) and support cost optimization decisions.Prepare and analyze manufacturing variance reports (material, labor, overhead, yield, and efficiency).SAP, COPA & ReportingDrive SAP manufacturing finance report improvements, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.Develop and enhance reports to reduce manual interventions and improve automation.Support and drive COPA (Controlling–Profitability Analysis) implementation and reporting.Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)Actively support financial planning and analysis for manufacturing operations.Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities covering Capex and Opex.Provide insights on cost trends, productivity, and operational efficiencies.Audit & ComplianceEnsure compliance with financial controls and manufacturing finance SOPs.Support and coordinate Internal Audits, Statutory Audits, and Cost Audits.Actively participate in PR (Purchase Requisition) release checks to ensure budget and cost compliance.Inventory & Working Capital ManagementManage and analyze inventory provisioning, valuation, and write-offs.Track working capital days, inventory turns, and material movements.Monitor and report write-offs, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory.Period Close & GovernanceActively participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures.Ensure accurate manufacturing cost accounting and timely close activities.Be a core team member in strengthening and updating manufacturing finance SOPs.Qualification & ExperienceQualification:CMA (Cost & Management Accountant) – MandatoryExperience:4+ years (post CMA completion) of relevant experience in manufacturing finance, preferably in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or CDMO environmentsKey Skills & CompetenciesTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of process costing, CoGS, variance analysis, and absorption costingHands-on experience with SAP (FI/CO, COPA)Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and cost driversExperience in budgeting, forecasting, inventory accounting, and auditsBehavioural SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent stakeholder management and business partnering skillsHigh attention to detail with a process-improvement mindsetAbility to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environmentStrong communication and presentation skills
